~The Doctor's P.O.V~
Falling. I was falling even faster than before. I had had it bad, but now, with her, I had it worse. One of my hearts.... well, I would see. But I had a pretty good idea of who would hold it. The other belonged to Rose Tyler, forever and always.
It was really my tenth regeneration that loved Rose, but I would never forget her. In a away, I was with her. I would always love Rose; but in my eleventh regeneration, she was more a memory than anything.
Now, I just wanted to slap myself. I was falling in love with another human girl. Luckily, I had hid his true feelings pretty well. On the other hand, as I was starting to care for her more and more, I couldn't hide it forever. I wondered just how long it would be before I snapped.
It had been a week since the incident where the TARDIS brought her home. We had found out it was because there was a wedding that Clara had to be at, as it was unchangeable event. Nothing really. After the wedding Clara was going to stay at home for a few days so she could catch up with family and friends. For her family, it had been only a day since they last saw Clara. For Clara, it had been at least a week and a half.
I went straight to a week later, practically tripping out the TARDIS doors on my way out as usual. I was a few streets away from her house and it was dark, possibly around 7:00. When I got to her house I saw her on the front steps and ran towards her, halting myself quickly when I realized something. Clara was crying.
A surge of anger rose in my throat. I wanted to know what, or who, had hurt her. What had put such a strong and brave woman in such a heart wrenching state? Slowly making my way to her side and calming my rage, I sat next to her and, hesitantly at first, put one of my long arms around her small shoulders. She gasped and looked up at my touch.
"Doctor!" she turned and hugged me tightly. I practically melted in response.
"Clara, what's wrong?" I gently hugged her back before she pulled away, wanting that hug to last forever.
"Wrong? Nothing's wrong!" She wiped her face in her sleeve and stood up in a very Clara-like manner. "I'm fine."
I stood up as well to face her but she avoided my gaze. "Clara,"
"So, where are we going? It better be somewhere awesome-"
"Clara!" I grabbed her left hand and pulled her to me, setting my other hand on her right shoulder. We both flushed a bit, I hadn't meant to pull her that close; yet, neither of us moved. This made me blush a little more, but I ignored it and spoke. "Clara, please, tell me what's wrong."
"Nothing is wrong," she firmly spoke and looked me directly in the eye. Not like the what I saw a few minutes ago, but more like normal Clara. My Clara.
"Are you sure, Soufflé Girl?" I took one hand off her shoulder, but didn't release her hand.
"Absolutely," She let a little smile onto her face at the nickname.
"Ready to go?" I asked, reluctantly letting go of her hand. She didn't let me, and held on. I resisted the urge to grin and held on back.
"Yes!" She grinned, eyes sparkling, and pulled me to the TARDIS.
It had always been me doing the hand holding and pulling around. With Clara though, I didn't mind. Maybe that's because I was falling in love head first. No... hearts first.
I know it's a short chapter. But it's short and sweet! :3
