My cousin Sam was turning 19 and me and my best friend, James, was invited to her birthday party over by the river with some other people that we didn't know. We both hated her like James hated eating pumpkin pie but she was still my cousin and you turn 19 only once. Are we the only guys here?? That was my first though when I pulled up to the large clearing where a bunch of RV's were parked side by side In my truck with James looking dumbfounded when I looked at him in my rear view mirror behind my truck. I wanted to turn around and tell my boss at work to put some weekend hours for me so I can afford breaking my truck more often. Well here goes nothing. I hopped out and said some words to my family and talked to my uncle joe for a minute about how everybody's been and just some small talk. He said that there was only a few friends coming since this was so short notice and that they are going swimming later and wanted to know if I brought my swimming trunks. I'm good at packing and this time was no different and I told him that I was going to join them when they left. I went and told James the news but he had overheard our conversation and had changed and went to find out where the fridge was. I wouldn't blame him. He was a tall skinny guy that was about 6'1 and 190ish pounds and I was a 5'11 170ish pounds but I worked out a lot and many people were mildly surprised to see lift 200lbs with ease. While James hit the fridge I went to talk to Sam and wish her a happy birthday she had only one friend at her side and so I asked " Is this the only friend that is wants to hang out this weekend?" She gave me a dirty look for that and introduced me to her friend, Hailey, she was a short petite girl at 4'11 and she was cute but I knew James was in heaven because his voice got a little shaken when he said hello to her. James was gonna have fun this weekend and just like any other time they were gonna ditch me. After we met Hailey, Sam told us that her other friend was coming but would be here in a hour or so but I didn't care too much because I saw a general store before I pulled in and I wanted to get some energy drinks before i went into the water soon. I paid for my drinks and went back to the campsites. I forgot to put my present for my cousin on the table so she could see it but I honestly didn't care too much about it because she was gonna get it sooner or later. My uncles and aunts were taking my younger cousins down to the river to swim and enjoy the weekend and it was only about a one minute walk to the river but since it was a man made river it was crystal clear and clean as I was told but it stunk like rotten eggs and every one noticed it as well as noses crinkled and others laughing at their faces but it didn't faze me because I work on a chicken farm and I raised pretty much any animal I could show at the county fair. I could hear the splashing of people and something roaring as well. Is that a whole waterfall right there?? It took me a second to see it but it wasn't a river somewhat it was a lagoon looking river source with a walkway around a a huge set of stairs on both sides and a whole man-made waterfall...
