-Veronica Brunswick-

There it was. The Hogwarts Express.

Around me were many families sending off their children with hugs and kisses. It was no different for me.

"Take care, okay?" Mother said.

"Don't forget to Owl us!" Father insisted, putting his hand on Raven's cage. Raven was an elegant owl with all-black feathers. She doesn't seem to like me much, though. "At least once a week!"

"Try making lots of friends, alright? The more the merrier!"

"Did you pack your wand? Robes? Books?"

Then, the red train let out a loud call, causing all the students to hurry on. Saying goodbye and hugging my parents, I ran on just in time.

All the compartments seemed to be already filled up. As I walked through, I took quick glances at the people in each.

"Hey, Brunswick!" a familiar voice called. It was Malfoy, Draco Malfoy.

I sighed and turned to him and a couple of other people, all sitting in a compartment together.

"Learnt a bit about your family," He continued, "Want to join us?"

Rolling my eyes, I turned away, "You wish, Malfoy."

In one compartment I passed by, there was a witch with light brown, slightly puffy hair, performing a spell. She seemed to be in her first year as well. Curious, I watched the few spells she showed off. There were two others in the compartment, a boy with glasses and a darker brown hair, and a ginger-haired boy.

"Um, hello," the boy with glasses spoke as they all looked at me, "Would you like to sit with us?"

"Oh, sorry, I was just watching her perform spells and got entranced by it," I responded, letting out a smile, "But, sure. Thanks for offering. I'm Veronica Brunswick."

As I took a seat, the boy introduced, "I'm Harry Potter-"

"Wait, what?" I took a closer look at his forehead and saw the scar, "...Oh my goodness, you're Harry Potter!"

They all let out a laugh.

"Took you a while to notice," the other boy commented, "I'm Ron Weasley."

"And I'm Hermione Granger," the girl concluded.

"Nice to meet you all!"

Our train ride consisted of many fun things. We played games, ate sweets, and talked about Hogwarts. They commented on my golden eyes, but I was used to it and didn't mind.

Soon, we had reached Hogwarts.

"Look how big it is!" I exclaimed.

Hermione nodded, "It's like a castle!"

"What if a hu- I mean, muggle sees it?" Harry asked.

"Oh, I know! I've read about it," Hermione responded.

Ron rolled his eyes, "Of course you have."

Ignoring him, Hermione continued, "A muggle wouldn't see Hogwarts, they would see a big abandoned building."

"It's not like a muggle would ever come here, anyway," Ron assumed.

"Hey guys, the train stopped," I remarked, "Let's go!"

We all stuffed a few more sweets into our mouthes and left.

Once we got off the train, some professors lead us onto a boat to travel across a river that was the only thing between us and the ancient school of Hogwarts.
