The party was at midnight that night. The best perk about having no guardian for a few days was that nobody could tell you what to do. So she didn't have to worry about getting caught.
Phoenix tried to get herself ready with what little age had. Her last foster parents kicked her out without a chance to grab clothes. They just shoved a backpack full of bare essentials out with her.
Her friend Alyse wouldn't let her wear any of the outfits she had left of course. Phoenix shifted through her bag and found a black miniskirt and a sequined top. To make the revealing outfit even worse her friend included 3" heels. Even though she was basically a street rat she was very conservative. Every Sunday she would go to church and pray that one day she would have a family that wouldn't kick her out because she was different then anyone else.
Different how, you may ask. Ever since she was little Phoenix could read minds of others. She could even respond to them. Her parents or so called parents would always get freaked and run.
They always ran before they discovered that she could do even more than that. She could control the weather and make things appear and disappear. That was just the beginning.
Lost in thought she didn't realize she had reached her friends house. "It come on! the party started an hour ago!" Alyse half slurred et sentence. It was already clear it was going to be a long night.
The three story house, which has more like a mansion was covered in balloons and cups all over the lawn. There had to be at least a hundred people there.
Music was already blasting and couples drunk in a corner making out. It was no surprise to see te top cheerleader and star of the football team, Ashley and Derrick, running up the stairs trying to find a room.
That was being generous to the whole situation.
She wished she had an excuse to leave. However she had nothing. No bed. No parents. No anything.
Ix was so lost in thought that she didn't even hear him come up behind her.
