Ch. 9: Mugman

It was dark, it was cold, I look up and down and there's nothing more, I didn't know where I was. Until I hear a familiar voice....

.... it was (Y/n). But why was I hearing their voice.

"Just hang in there, Mugman is going to be ok." Was all I heard them then everything was quiet.

"What did they mean Mugman was gonna be ok? Did they do something to him!?" All this questions went on in my head until I finally work up in a hospital bed, panting. I look to my side to see Cuphead next to me who is confused as I am.

"How did we get here?" Cuphead asked me, I just shrugged then a nurse came in.

"Oh Mr. Cuphead and (C/n) you're awake!" She said.

"YOU TWO!" another nurse came in, with a anger expression.

"Nurse Fanny? Is there a problem?" The nurse asked looking at 'nurse Fanny. She walk up to us and then started dragging us as the other nurse followed.

"Come here shit heads!" She yelled.

"What's the deal lady?" Cuphead question her.

"Nurse Fanny please be nice." The nurse said as we finally reach a room.

"You don't just throw your trash here! You supposed to come back and pick it up." Nurse Fanny said as she throw us in the room. When we looked up our eyes widened in disbelief.

... Mugman's Alive.

"C-Cup! W-Where have you been? I thought you left me here forever!" Mugman said with watery eyes. Cuphead and I didn't know how to react, we walked up to him then started question ourselves out loud.

"You're r-real right?" Cuphead asked as he and I touched his face, Mugman looked away from us.

"Don't talk to me I'm mad at you." Mugman said.

"I I'm n-not going crazy right? I can s-see you, I can touch you?!" I said not believing that Mugman is alive, Cuphead has the same expression. Mugman looked at us confused.

"Cups? (C/n)?" We didn't say anything and started covering his face with our kisses.

Time passed-

Meanwhile we were just holding on to Mugman, not wanting to let him go as Mugman hugged us back. I was thinking about what happened yesterday and what were we going to do after this. I remembered something's about yesterday but only when I was chasing (Y/n), them saving me and hearing their voice.

"Cuphead do you remember anything about what happened yesterday?" I asked him. He shook his head side ways.

"I don't recall too well about yesterday... I was just running after... I don't know." Cuphead looked down at Mugman who was smiling and he smiled back him.

"Nothing mattered for me to care anyway." He said laying his head on Mugman. I sighed calmly.

"Aww. Your so fluffy!" Mugman said while touching his brother's hair then I hear the chick nurse huffing while walking out with the other one.

"NOPE! I can't deal with this cuteness! I'm out!"

"Finally! I was about to get lunch without you."

"Hey guys, we should probably get going." I suggested. Cuphead looked at Mugman then they look back at me with a nod.

Time passed-

After we thanked the nurses for helping us and the rabbit nurse came up to Cuphead who is blushing even though the nurse was being a Bitch to him. We then left the hospital and went to go eat something.

Cuphead on the other hand stayed by Mugman's side checking on him, and making sure if he was ok.

"You sure you don't need more rest?" Cuphead asked worriedly.

"I had all the rest I needed while you two forgot me there! Hehe" Mugman giggled, joking. This made me feel sad and disappointed on myself since I didn't know what to say at this point. My thoughts were interrupted when Cuphead spoke again.

"Don't joke like that Mugs, I went through the worst days of my whole life without you and all the time I just couldn't forget about you even if I was tried." Cuphead said, taking the words out of my mouth while holding Mugman close to him.

"Cuppy please! I'm not used to all this love." Mugman said.

"Well it's true." I added.

"Oh I almost forgot! Remember that rabbit that you were fighting with last time (C/n)?" Mugman said, catching my attention as I looked at him.

"Yea? Why? What about them?" I asked.

"Well while I was out I heard someone coming, I thought it was one of the nurses but when I heard a voice. It belonged to them and they made me drink this yummy weird blue stuff and saved me, it also made me feel more strong." Mugman explained to me and Cuphead who had a shock face on as well as I did.

'So that's what they meant..." I thought.
