"What are you doing?"
Jungkook turned around to see where the voice was coming from and his eyes landed on Yoongi. The man was just about a yard from him, and he looked concerned.
Concerned?
"I think you can tell what I'm doing." Jungkook replied with no emotion in his voice. Yoongi didn't usually feel anything for anyone, but he felt bad for this kid.
"Kid, I don't think you should do that."
"Why? You don't know what shit I've been through." Jungkook countered; he knew he wanted to do this for a while.
"Because kid, life is really worth living until the end. It gets fucked at some points, but everything gets good within time. You just have to stay strong." Yoongi explained, hoping to convince him.
"...I lost my strength long ago, I can't."
And with that, he stepped off.
BUT.
He didn't feel it.
He didn't feel the wind blowing his hair up, or the pain of hitting the ground. He felt himself being grabbed by the back of his shirt and tugged back, and then being pulled into a hug.
"Please kid, don't..."
He cried. Right into the mysterious man's shoulder. Jungkook finally got out the tears he needed to let out long ago.
"I-I'm sorry..." Jungkook stuttered out between his cries.
"It's alright kid. You're alive, aren't you?"
The boys stayed in that hug for a bit, just sitting there in the semi-comforting silence.
"Hey, kid, it's cold up here; do you want me to take you inside? Speaking of that, do you have anywhere to sleep?" Yoongi questioned.
"N-no, it's fine. I also have a place to stay..." Jungkook trailed off.
"Do you want me to take you back to your house?" Yoongi asked.
"No! It's fine! I can get back on my own.."
"... Alright. Well you should probably get back home, your family is probably worried."
'Ah yes, they must be worried sick' Jungkook thought sarcastically, knowing he didn't matter.
"Y-yeah, I'll head back. Thank you..."
"Yoongi, and you're welcome. Also, if you ever do need somewhere to sleep, stop by."
Jungkook then left the roof, going down the stairs and back out to the street. There was barely anyone out at this time, and he was thankful for that.
Yoongi sighed, slightly confused, and worried, but hopeful that everything was going to work out.
•••
Jungkook sighed, sitting at the Jonghyun Kim Park; which was dedicated to the mayor's son and Jungkook's best friend. Jonghyun died, which was the reason Jungkook came to the park almost every day He could, but his death wasn't the only reason he came here. Jungkook came to the well known park to talk to his best friend about his problems and feelings when no one was around.
Jungkook sat down on the bench next to the gold plaque engraved in the bench that read:
'Cry out loud once. Look at the mirror & shake it off. I've cried like that before & others will have times like that too. Cheer up, you're not alone.'
-Kim Jonghyun 1970 - 2017'"It didn't go out as well as i planned jonghyun.." Jungkook started, "What happened...Before...Before you left. I was happy, we were happy, everyone was heavily affected by your death..So why did you do it? Everyone needed you, the way you died shouldnt have happened." Jungkook choked out, "I guess thats a bit selfish, I really am hypocritical..." Jungkook put his head on the back part of the bench, as if the back part of the bench was Jonghyun's shoulder.
"Things are hard at home... Mom is... Literally trying to kill me, I'm honestly not too surprised. She killed dad already, why not her son? A stranger saved me... I'm a little disappointed, but grateful at the same time.. A little part of me was grateful I didnt fall off that roof. " Jungkook closed his eyes, feeling tired. "Now I have no where to go... I'm a homeless, suicidal teenage boy, maybe everything Is happening for a reason...Ya know?... I'm cold."
Jungkook put his hands into his yellow jacket, his hands to cold to feel if anything in the pockets if it was. Jungkook hummed his favorite song instagram by dean. Jungkook's hand got uncomfortable so he moved them around in his pocket. He lifted his head up, confused, he was sure he didn't put anything in his pockets. He pulled out a piece of gum paper that had an address on it Under the name Yoongi.
Jeongguk thought back to the man that fell on him. "How did even find time to write this? Where did he get the paper from?"
Thoughts were running through Jungkook's mind. He had no choice. He had no where to stay, it was cold and dark. He'd rather stay and talk with his dead friend, but Jungkook couldn't last one more second in the cold.
Jungkook let out a loud groan and sighed. He really didn't want to accept staying at a stranger's house. But right now it was a life or death situation, no matter how much Jungkook wanted to die and be at peace, he didn't want to die in the cold.
°°°°°°°
Jungkook knocked on the wooden black door. He kept thinking that the roof man was sleeping already but the thought came to an end as a short man in all black pajamas stood at the door's entrance, hand still on the knob behind the door. Jeongguk stared into the short mans eyes. Jeongguk bit his lip nervously in thought
'what should I say?!'
"I don't actually have anywhere to go...I really don't want to sleep on a bench tonight..."
Yoongi stood there for a second, seeing this helpless boy who surely could be younger than he looks. Yoongi stepped aside and opened the door wider, letting the taller male in.
"make yourself at home"
