Ch2: Forest Attack

Miranda's pov

I walked through the forest on my back from my house. I had told Dipper that I had to get something before we went exploring so I quickly nipped back to my house.

I found him awkwardly standing on the porch of the Mystery shack. I slowly walked over, keeping quite just like my dad taught me. I did my best to surpass my laugh as I got closer.

Once I was close enough, I pounced, wrapping my arms around Dipper's neck to scare him while yelling "Boo!"

He let out a scream and we both fell backwards. I let go of him as I hit the ground, having closed my eyes. I opened them and found Dipper laying on top of me, his hat having fell off onto the ground.

My cheeks heat up, especially since no one had ever been in such close proximity to me before, except my dad and my other parents that is. He lifted his head and his face started to turn red.

He quickly got off me. "I'm so sorry" I apologised. I picked up his hat and offered it to him. He took it and gave me a smile. "It's fine. I'm impressed that you snuck up on me" he stated.

"Oh my dad taught me. It comes in handy for a lot of things" I stated with a smile. Dipper got up and offered a hand which I took, standing up. I took his hand as he pulled me up.

"Should we go?" I asked. "Yeah. Let's go" he agreed, putting his hat back on. "So you like mysteries? Have you solved any?" I asked. "Yeah. I helped save Gravity falls from Bill Cipher" he replied.

"Bill Cipher!" I yelled. "You know Bill?" Dipper asked. "Let's just say he offered me something and things didn't go too well" I stated.

Dipper bit his lip but dropped the subject. I heard something from nearby. I pushed Dipper into the bushes as he cried out.

"Hey did you hear that?" someone asked. "Stay here" I whispered before running off in a direction, making sure to make noise. "That way" someone yelled.

'Good. Their following me and not Dipper' I thought. Unfortunately, I had been so focused on where this person or several people were, that I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings.

I tripped over a tree root and fell onto the ground. I tried to get up but my foot was stuck in the tree root. I was now panicking because I heard at least two pairs of footsteps running towards me.

I kept tugging on my leg, trying to free it. I finally got it out but I was too late because someone picked me up by my shirt collar. I looked up to find two vampires, covering their skin with cloaks. 'Of course. The trees hide most of the sunlight so if they cover up then their fine' I thought.

"Dude, look at this. Its the little hybrid. We were looking for you hybrid" he laughed. I struggled to get free. "What should we do with it?" the other guy asked. "Beat it up then kill it of course. We don't want such a disgusting creation sullying the name of a vampire" the one holding me stated. I struggled even more. Why did Vampire's have to be so tall.

I was pinned to a tree using my shirt and a small yet strong tree branch as I dangled a good few feet above the ground.

Soon I was getting punched and kicked by these two. They clearly didn't like me. I tried to stop them but it didn't work.

Eventually I decided that I couldn't escape under normal means so instead, using as much strength as I could muster, turned into a bat and flew a good distance away from where I was previously being beaten up.

I turned back to normal and limped over to where Dipper was. He saw me and scrambled out from the bushes. "Miranda. Are you alright?" he asked. I shook my head. "We need to get out of the forest. It's not safe right now" I stated. He looked at me with worry but still complied.

He let me lean on him for support and we headed back to the shack.
