(Based off the Grand Campaigns I have played in Empire: Total War.)

1700 is a time of exploration, a time where Europeans have begun colonizing India and the New World. But slowly, the world begins destroying itself from the inside out, as alliances have been made and broken and territories have been captured and liberated. Natives and Europeans fighting for control of the New World, two Indian empires fighting for control of India. You will view this war from the eyes of three men, each with their own ambitions and goals. Providing that they can survive this terrible conflict.

-Journal of Lars Baasch. March 17, 1701-

Today, the King of Prussia has declared war on Poland-Lithuania. It is about time. For too long, they have been occupying what should be Prussian territory. While we hold East Prussia, those pathetic Polish have sullied West Prussia with their Catholic beliefs. Today, I have the honor of leading the army that will liberate West Prussia from the Commonwealth. My army has seen warfare before, and will no doubt fight until the end. Meanwhile, I was told that Austria and Sweden declared war on our great Prussia. Sweden at best will just raid trade routes and will not commit resources to a full invasion. Austria on the other hand, seeks to unify the German States under their banner and will actually pose as a threat. Unless those Turks would dare lunge themselves at Vienna again.

Before the armies of Lars Baasch set out to take back West Prussia, the Maratha Confederacy in India had already begun their goal of taking back the continent from the Mughal Empire. A Marathan thuggee was sent to Hyderabad to assassinate a Mughal general there, but he ends up finding out about the terrible, harsh life of the city itself.

-Hyderabad, One year ago. April 14, 1700-

For seven days, I have been roaming around Hyderabad for defenses to sabotage, people of high status to kill. This is because the general I was supposed to kill had recently died, and they never even bothered to recruit another one to replace him. How sad. As for their "army", it is basically two regiments of Islamic Swordsman. If this is the case, then it seems that the armed mobs and landless rabble of the city will have to take up arms when the Confederacy strikes.

But what was even more sad is the life in the city itself. When I first arrived in the city, I was already enthralled by the sight of this family owning a small stand. What captured my attention was the little boy that was sleeping near the stand. He had no bed to lie down in, all he had was the floor and a blanket to cover himself. The kid's mother had shook him to wake him up. But he didn't show any type of response. The mother had continue to shake him. As seconds passed by, she continued to shake her son intensively. She was crying out for a doctor, not even attempting to hide away her tears. Everyone who passed by the stand ignored her entirely, as the cries of grieving mother were cut out by the many others chatting, complaining, even trying to get a good bargain out of a merchant.

As I went deeper in the city, I overheard a conversation. A very interesting conversation. The two men were talking about how bad everything was in the city, and how they were planning a revolt in the city. It turns out they were able to secure other people to their cause. They were talking as if they had a huge army. Either way, rebel armies usually end up having their heads chopped off, and I really don't know what the Mughal army will do next. Only time will tell.

In the present day, Brian O'Malley is an Irish exile under the service of Spain's "1st Irish Brigade". Escaping Anti-Catholicism movements in the United Kingdom, Brian saw the Brigade as his only chance of survival. Even though he is fighting Spain's wars, he was lured under the promises of endless riches that came from the New World.

-Siege of Lisbon. March 21, 1701-

"Climb the walls!" The command of my officer and the response to a question some idiot(who is now either relaxing or burning in the afterlife) who just fell to his death.

My name is Brian O'Malley, and I am currently climbing the walls of Lisbon all because my superiors demand it. It seems that Spain does not like sharing Iberia with Portugal and would rather unite the peninsula under one banner. Just hours ago, we were marching to Lisbon, wondering if we would actually survive our first battle. Some fight all for the glory of being in combat, while others see it as a chance to liberate Ireland from Great Britain. Me? Well, I was told of the riches we would be rewarded for serving the Spanish crown. I just wished that they would have told me of the Seven Cities of Gold just prior to this. Perhaps I would have been more motivated by it.

"Tome la ciudad en nombre de la corona!"- Possibly the last words I will hear before I die.

Well it doesn't matter now, because I might not live through this. As I make my way up the walls, I already see some fellow Irish and Spaniards who made it up the walls. They either duel with Portuguese, or get pushed back to the ground.

"Cair pra trás!" "Mátalos a todos!"

More nonsense I hear along my climb. Despite seeing the endless masses who fall to their doom, I eventually make it up the wall with a surprised look on my face. Suddenly, this really bearded and tall soldier lunges at me with his bayonet. I narrowly avoided the blade and proceeded to do the same with my own. However, he dodges the blade and throws a punch at me, which results in me falling to the ground and dropping my musket. He then attempts to stab me with his bayonet, but I roll to the left, lying next to a dead Irish soldier who took one to the face. (god rest his soul) I continue rolling to avoid the Portuguese soldier's bayonet stabs until I take the sword of another dead soldier. Which then I get to my feet after dodging the last stab. The Portuguese soldier then lunges his bayonet again, to I respond with a parry and a fatal blow to the chest. I pull out the sword and he instantly falls flat to the ground.

"El enemigo se retira! Arrasar la ciudad y no dejar sobrevivientes! ¡Viva España!"

After my victory, I then hear the cries of a Spaniard while the enemy retreats like madmen. With the words "¡Viva España!", I assume that it is a victory for us.
