Chapter 21 - Mom life

Heeju POV

2 months later

It's been two months since I've been back home with Eden and we're back to our usual routine. Our routine is basically quite similar to before we had Eden except during night times when we would have to get up several times to feed/ attend to Eden. In the morning, I'll check on Eden first, freshen up then prepare breakfast for Jinwoo and I. After Jinwoo leaves for work, Jinwoo's driver will drive Eden and me to Halmeoni's place where Halmeoni and the grandaunts will watch Eden while I get a few hours in the guitar workshop. Afterwhich, Jinwoo comes over for dinner at Halmeoni's before we head home together.

Except for today, Halmeoni made plans with the grandaunt to go shopping today so I stayed home with Eden today. Now I've just finished feeding Eden in his nursery when I hear the door unlock downstairs. Jinwoo has been coming home earlier than before and bringing his work home to complete rather than handling them at the office. He said he wanted to home early so he could help me out with Eden. We have both decided against hiring a nanny and to look after Eden by ourselves but of course, sometimes with the help of Halmeoni. We're new parents after all.

I come down in search for Jinwoo to find him in his office, looking out the window while on the phone. When he turns and see me approaching, he smiles, ends his call and slips an arm around my waist, drawing me close. I was a little tense watching Eden all day alone today but right now, in Jinwoo's embrace, I shut my eyes and drink in his scent. He sets his forehead on mine, and we stayed in that position together for a long time, just enjoying our quiet time together.

"I may have to go to France the week after next. I've to meet with an international corporation there. And there's a dinner I have to attend in Cannes after that too." Jinwoo's announcement interrupts my reverie. "Do you want to come with me? It will probably be like a week."

"A week? If we're going for dinners and meeting your business partners, I don't think we can bring Eden along." My voice is quiet, as I reply Jinwoo.

"I know you don't want to leave Eden behind but you need some time to yourself. Some time just to ourselves would be good for you. You've been busy with Eden since we've been back so give yourself a break." He says.

I sigh. Leaving Eden for a whole week? Can I really do that? We'll probably get Halmeoni to help with looking after Eden for the week but the thought of leaving Eden when he's only 2 months old is something I cannot fathom.

"Come on, give yourself a break. It's only a week." Jinwoo says as he caresses my face with the backs of his knuckles.

"Okay," I murmur. I hate the idea of it but I'm going to have to give it a shot.

Writer's note: Mid-eum apparently means TRUST(faith) in Korean so I thought it would be pretty cool if their kid was named a name that means trust!
