Chapter Five:
The bell rang and along with it were the sigh of relief of the students as they put down their pens and pass their papers.
"Finally! Exams are over!" Kagami growled in relief. "How'd you do, Kuroko?"
The teal-head looked up. "I did pretty great. I guess Midorima-kun as my tutor these last few days really did give its' reward despite him being such a strict teacher."
"You were tutored by Midorima?" Kagami gasped and spun his seat around to face his partner, who was now back to his normal self. Sometimes even Kagami, himself, didn't know what to do at times just like almost a week and half ago. The teal-head ran to his apartment and cried at his chest. It was uncommon. It was painful to see such a thing, which was why he vowed to never let the phantom player again because he knew that the latter had always been strong mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually until Akashi appeared again in their lives.
Kuroko arranged his notebooks and nodded. "My Mom lightly scolded me about my grades, so I decided to ask Midorima-kun a favor. It actually surprised me when he instantly approved of it. Takao-kun was with me as we three reviewed. Why, did you want to come along?"
Kagami scratched his head. "Uh, yeah?"
"You should have told me. I'm sure Midorima-kun will welcome you in spite of how tsundere his response would be." Kuroko assured.
Kagami grinned. "How about next time?"
"Alright. Do remind me, though, so I won't forget."
The red-head stood up and grabbed his bag. "We have a practice match with a team named Jumonji Shohei Gakuen later after two more hours. Let's go to the gym to get ready."
Kuroko nodded and stood up, his bag hanging on one of his sides. "I'm pretty excited to play against a team we've never played with before."
The taller ace nodded in agreement. "Coach said that they really value sportsmanship but at the same time are very serious inside the game yet she also uttered that they are the very close-with-each-other type of team."
"Just like ours."
"Yeah…"
"I suddenly miss Kiyoshi-senpai," murmured the phantom player in bitterness.
His partner smacked his head playfully. "Idiot. Don't look so depressed. He might have gone to America a day ago to cure the injury of his knee. He'll be back. He promised that, didn't he? Our jobs right now is not to confess naked at the rooftop and win these games!"
"True."
Kagami raised a fist as they stepped before the gymnasium's closed doors. "Let's go?"
Kuroko bumped one fist against Kagami's raised one. "Let's go."
They slid open the doors and entered.
"Our aces have arrived!" Izuki celebrated.
"Do you have everything?" Hyuuga confirmed.
The two nodded.
"Is everyone here?" Riko shouted.
"Yes!" Everyone answered.
The small brunette opened the doors and led the way. "Then, let's go, Seirin!"
As they took their steps forward for another journey as a team, Nigou went along and jumped inside Kuroko's open spare bag. "Arf!" He barked as an agreement.
Seirin Basketball Team members went aboard the bus their school provided for them towards their destination, Kyoto. Since they won the Winter Cup, anything they needed were provided by the school as a form of support for their team.
