The train that we had boarded the previous night took us to the edge of Spoons. After Spoons, we would be traveling out to the open land between the country and the sea. Sebastian was planning on sending Brodie with us to Alvarez so that we could all keep in contact.
"How long was I out?" I asked as we climbed out of the bunks and off of the train.
Cassidy was the one who answered. "Only a few hours. But now you have to walk about 5 miles to get to a hotel. Are you going to be ok?"
"I think that I'll be fine. We just need to be careful. I had a dream while i was asleep. I remembered that the country we've been living in lost it's source of magic. They were cut off from the other countries and left to their own devices. It's only the elders who formally keep in contact with the other countries. We just can't use any magic in broad daylight." I smiled at the memory of Zeref explaining it to me.
"So you get a memory back and it has to be a useless one!" Zeref laughed. "I'm glad that your memory is starting to return."
"Me too. By the way, why didn't we stay at one of the three hotels we've already past?" I had seen at least three different hotels, and Sebastian had just ignored them. He was also the one to answer my question.
"We needed to be closer to the center of the city. It's easier to cover trails there. It's also closer to the train we'll take tomorrow to get out of Spoons." He smiled. "Here's the hotel were staying at. I got two rooms with the same arrangements as last time. We're on the seventh floor this time."
"Thankyou." I tripped over the step into the hotel and had a hard time regaining my balance. Sebastian checked us in, and Zeref helped me get up to the room.
"I need to talk to you. Cassidy and Elliot are going to go swim with Brodie. I assume you don't want to go?" Zeref asked me.
"You assume correctly. What do you want to talk about?" I sat up on the bed.
"We need to talk about the curse. I need to explain some things to you." He looked at me. "For starters, what it was we were doing to get cursed by Anhkselam. When we were little, a dragon attacked our home. You and I jumped out of our bedroom window and ran around to the front. When the fire was put out, they found that everyone else was dead. We managed to somehow get into a magic academy a few years after that. We both studied magic about life and death We were close to making a revival system for Natsu, but the curse took hold. Everyone at the academy was dead. We continued our research and finished Eclipse, the project that got us cursed. We revived Natsu, but he didn't want to learn. Keep in mind this is 400 years ago. You went out to get some food, and never came back. I entrusted Natsu to a kind dragon who taught him fire magic. I've been searching for you ever since." He looked at me. "Your personality hasn't changed a bit."
I smiled. "I'm glad that we were able to revive Natsu. I can live with this now that I know that." Cassidy and Elliot walked through the door.
Cassidy said, "The pool was closed. I hope we weren't interrupting anything."
I looked at Zeref again and smiled. "I was about to say that I was tired and I was gonna go to bed. I'm sorry the pool was closed." I layed down, and everyone in our room soon followed.
"I don't understand why conductors don't like me and Zeref." I frowned. The conductor had ignored our requests for earbuds so we could listen to the radio. "Do we really look like trouble?" I asked Sebastian.
He replied, "If you did, do you think I would've helped you guys out? Here, you can have mine." He handed me his packet.
"I guess so. Thanks." I plugged them in and handed one to Zeref. The radio began talking to us. 'My name is Adam Foster. I'm looking for a set of twins. I believe their names are Zeref and Phoenix. They attend Solaros academy for Orphans. They are wanted for running away, and sneaking onto a subway. Many people believe that they are heading out to our neighboring by sea country, Alvarez. If anyone sees two 18 year olds with black hair, one with dark grey eyes and one with blue, please call (***)***-****. Thank-' I pulled out the headphones.
