He dropped his bible under his pillow, and then lied down quietly. Watching her pack up and wishing he had known better earlier.
Waking the next day felt very awkward; like the days should be winded a little bit backward. We all gathered at the sitting room to pray, committing mama’s journey into the hands of God almighty.
Papa led in the prayers while we followed.
I sat there on the couch thinking so finally its happening. Who would have taught mama would get this far. And it all started with a leap of faith and an act of strength. If you want life to get better, you’ll have to take risk.
There is simply no way you can grow without taking risk.
After the prayers, we took mama’s bags to the car and arranged it properly to fit into papa’s car, then we all entered the car with papa driving.
Tried to think of the good side of things and all the wonderful stuffs that where to be gained if mama travels, while chidiogo wept all the way.
When we got to the park, we unloaded the bags for the bus drivers to load them into Lagos bus. We all stood by the car as mama hugged and bid us goodbye.
When she got to papa, she froze for some minutes and when she finally spoke all she said was;
"Take care of my children, Emeka".
" I swear I won’t forgive you this time if anything happen to any one of them".
Papa looked at her, silenced for a while and replied,
"I promise".
A little pause of silence, then he altered; I wish I could do it all over again.
Mama turned and walked away, towards the bus, waving good-bye to us.
Mama bye, mama bye, we all chorused.
There are too many cars, in too much of a hurry, going too many directions, to get nowhere for nothing.
“There is so little time for the discovery of all that we want to know about things that really interest us, or in which we are interested only because others people have told us what we ought to be”.
But Love, family, understanding and hope for a better tomorrow, those are the visible essence. And without focus on these visible essences, there is no peace.
THIS IS MY DESIGN!!!VISIBLE ESSENCE.
