Joshua saw Rani, Simba and Mei heading their way while he rested in the shade with Sarabi, her friend Sarafina and her daughter, Nala.

Sarafina and Nala we're both cream colored lionesses with brown tail tufts and green eyes. Rani had met them a couple of days after the presentation. From what she had learned, Nala was to be the future Queen of the Pridelands.

"Hey Nala," Simba greeted his best friend.

"Hi, Simba," Nala greeted.

"Come on! I just heard about this great place." Simba said.

"Simba! I'm kinda in a middle of a bath!" Nala said.

"And it's time for yours," Sarabi added, grabbing Simba and licking him.

"Mom!" Simba protested while Rani and Mei laughed alongside their friends and siblings. "Mom, you're messing up my mane!" Simba grumbled.

Sarabi smiled warmly.

"Okay, okay! I'm clean! Can we go now?" Simba jumped down and fixed his mane impatiently.

"So where are we going? It better not be any place dumb." Nala said as Sarafina kept licking her.

"No! It's really cool!" Simba said.

"So where is this 'really cool' place?" Sarabi asked.

"Oh...around the water hole." Simba said.

"The water hole?! What's so great about the water hole?" Nala demanded incredulously.

Rani was about to say something, but Simba shot her a look before saying to Nala under his breath, "I'll show you when we get there!"

"Oh..." Nala said. "Uh, mom? Can I go with Simba?"

"Hmm...what do you think, Sarabi?" Sarafina said.

"Well..."

"Pleeeeeease?" Both cubs pleaded with smiles.

"It's alright with me." Sarabi nodded.

"Yeah!!! All right!" Both lion cubs cheered, while Rani moaned with dread.

"As long as Zazu goes with you," Sarabi added. Rani's eyes lit up with relief.

"No! Not Zazu!" Simba groaned.

"Step lively! The sooner we get to the water hole, the sooner we can leave!" Zazu said from the sky.

Rani was behind the two cubs, absolutely dreading the trek to the northern border. Mei was talking with the other kids.

"So where are we really going?" Nala asked quietly.

"An elephant graveyard," Simba whispered back.

"WOW!" Nala exclaimed, a bit louder than she should have.

"SHHH!!! Zazu!" Simba shushed.

"Right, so how are we gonna ditch the dodo?" Nala asked.

"We should do nothing of the sort! Your dad told us not to—" Rani nervously said.

"Oh, just look at you two with your Sorceress. Little seeds of romance blossoming in the Savannah," Zazu interrupted the conversation, swooping down. "Your parents will be thrilled, What with you being betrothed and all!"

"Be what?" Simba crinkled his nose.

"Betrothed! Intended! Affianced!" Zazu said.

"Zazu, what do you mean?" Rani asked in confusion.

"One day, those two are going to be married!" Zazu said in excitement.

"To each other?!" Rani wrinkled her nose. Adults could be weird sometimes.
