Isaac couldn’t stop thinking about the kiss and how it sent chills down his body. He didn’t understand why though. He had just met this girl yesterday, yet he cared about her more than anything in the world. For the 10th time in an hour, he sprinted up to the desk and asked if he could see Audrey and make sure she was alright. Of course, he got the same answer as always.
“No. The doctor will come get you if anything traumatic happens,” the waiting room lady replied obviously very annoyed. Isaac sighed but slugged back to his seat.
“I just want to see her,” he muttered looking down. As he pulled out his phone and turned it on, it blew up with messages from Shauna.
Where r u!
Isaac?
R u ignoring me?
Hello?
Ur with that new girl aren’t you?
ISAAC!
He quickly texted her back.
I am so sorry! Audrey got smacked in the face with a door and I had to take her to the hospital.
He turned off the phone and shoved it back in his pocket. Just then a doctor walked through the doors of the waiting room.
“Audrey Stagers?” He said looking up from his clipboard. Isaac jumped up out of his seat and quickly jogged over to where the doctor stood.
“She’s my… um friend,” Isaac said slowly. The doctor nodded and started walking down the halls. He motioned Isaac to follow him. Slowly they walked down the halls to the last room on the right.
“This one,” he said turning into the room. Isaac saw Audrey sitting in the hospital bed with her head wrapped in bandages as she watched Hannah Montana.
“Hellooo?” He said smiling as he saw Audrey. She smiled back the second he saw him enter her room.
“Isaac!” she laughed as he sat down on her bed.
“How are you, mi amigo,” he said leaning down and giving her a quick peck on the cheek.
“I’m better. I’ve got a major headache but ill survive,” she groaned holding her head but still pulled off a weak smile. “But, doc says I’ll be outta here tomorrow.” Isaac gave a little golf clap and laughed.
“Does that mean I’ve got to go back to campus?” he sighed.
“I mean there is a pull out coach right there…” she said smirking. He gave a quick eyebrow raise to her and flopped down on the coach.
“What if I go all pervy on you,” he said starting to crack up.
“Oh, come onnn,” she said shaking her head. “Give that up.” Isaac bit his lip and put his hand on his head. She knew he never would let go of the word “pervy”. She gave a weak smile and closed her eyes.
“Night,” she whispered.
“Goodnight beautiful,” he muttered
“What’d you say?” she answered groggily
“I just said goodnight,” he said lying on his back looking at her. He couldn’t stop looking at her. She was just so beautiful. So natural. Not like the other girls he’s dated, perfect, yet real. Just thinking of her made him smile.
