Chapter Five

 

                As Audrey fluttered her eyes open, she already heard someone talking in her room.  She sat up and saw Isaac already up and on the phone with someone.

                “Yeah babe, I get it.  I’m sorry I had to take a friend somewhere,” Isaac said starting to raise his voice.  Audrey heard rabbling on the other side.  She couldn’t make out many words but she knew most of them were not good. 

                “Whatever babe, I love you,” Isaac said rolling his eyes as he ended the call  

                Wait a second here.  Isaac has a girlfriend!? Audrey thought.  She stared at him in disappointment.  Isaac caught her eyes and gave a quick glance.

                “Morning sunshine,” He said smiling.  She continued to glare at him.  “What’s your problem?”  He continued. 

                “Nothing, just my head still hurts a bit.”  She said trying to pull off a fake grin. 

                “Well just think about how you’re getting out today,” He looked down and started to take off his hoodie.   His hoodie got caught on his shirt and relived his chiseled 6-pack.

                “Oh,” Audrey said in a seductive voice.  Isaac gave a quick eyebrow raise and winked. 

                “So does that mean you’ll go to dinner with me tomorrow night,”  Isaac laughed.

“But… I heard your conversation with that girl on the phone this morning,” Audrey said confused.  “Don’t you have a girlfriend…?”  Isaac’s smile suddenly into a grim straight face.

                “I, um, yeah.  Her name’s Jasmine.”  He answered avoiding eye contact.

                “So, you were gonna cheat on her?”  She got up out of her hospital bed and walked over to her pile of clothes from yesterday.  “Get out of my room,” She said pointing to the door.  Isaac gave her a quick glare.  Audrey sighed and as he slammed the door of her room shut.  She started to take off her hospital gown as she heard a knock on the door.  “5 seconds!” She quickly pulled on her jean shorts and black t-shirt from yesterday just as the doctor walked in.

                “How are you feeling today, Miss Stagers,” The doctor said smiling

                “Amazing! I feel perfect and ready to go home!” She laughed.  “I’m already packed up.”

                “Well I’ll just sign this release form and you’ll be all ready to go!”  The doctor said signing his signature and giving the clipboard to my nurse.  Audrey picked up my bag and walked out of the room.  She was thinking about what she said to Isaac and she felt kinda bad.   But he was gonna cheat on his girlfriend with her and that would have hurt both of them.  So she kinda saved two people’s hearts today.
