I'm in the glorious yellow vehicle they call a school bus. I have my headphones in drowning out the noises around me. I get carried away in the music as I wait for the clunky old bus to get to my stop.

I lay my head up against the window and just relax, glad that it's a Friday.

I won't have to see any of these people or my shit hole of a school for a whole two days.

Finally the driver gets to my house after what seems like an eternity. I then grab my things and get off.

The only car in the driveway is my brothers.

That's fucking great,

My parents are gone again and now I'm stuck with Caleb, my asshole of a brother.

I check my phone and sure enough I have a text from my mom.

"We're going to London for the weekend. Caleb is in charge. See you soon!"

At this point I'm just so done with their shit.

They always do this. My parents obviously don't care anymore. They pretend to but it's such a pathetic attempt I easily see right through it. They're constantly gone and when they are here they're fake as hell. All they care about is image and I obviously don't match up with their idea of what their daughter should be like. So you know what I'll just this really easy for them.

I'm leaving too.

I go upstairs to my room and find a bag that should be big enough to hold my things. I start shoving items into it furiously not really paying attention to what I'm packing.

My mind is filled with nothing but hurt and rage it's a bit hard to concentrate on the packing aspect of this.

All I know is I need to get away from here.

I've saved up more than enough money from years of babysitting and my part time job at Quiznos.

I can do this.

I'll get a flight out of here tonight and be gone to some foreign place by morning. I'll get a job their and that'll be it.

I feel like almost any option is better than this one.

I run a brush through my messy brown hair and make my way downstairs, my bag on my shoulder.

Right as I'm about to leave I hear someone call my name.

"April? Where are you going?"

It's Caleb. Fucking hell.

"Oh uh I'm going to a friends for the weekend since mom and dad are gone."

"Since when do you have friends?" He asks raising a eyebrow

"Since now asshole."

"Well I'm glad you're leaving because I'm having people over and I didn't want them to know you're my sister. You're kind of embarassing, no offense.

"Fuck you." I say while slamming the front door in his face.

Yea. My brother is the greatest.

I put that out of my mind and begin thinking about how I'll be getting to the airport.

I figure the metro is the only way I'll be able to get there since I don't have my license or a car yet.

There is a stop about a block away from the airport. It may be a little crowded right now but what choice do I have?

"This is it. I'm leaving this place" I think to myself as I start making my short walk to the metro.
