I feel a searing pain in my arm so I snap my head down to look at it. The bitch cut me.
"You shouldn't have done that" I mumble as I turn my attention back to the girl and quickly land a punch on her cheek.
Her hand flies up to her Cheek, caressing her now reddening cheek. She glares up at me before lunging at me again and punching me in the side. I feel another sharp pain as her knife cuts a gash in my cheek. I stumble back as my hand goes up to wipe away at the blood.
"Well?" she shouted to me, "Come on! What are you, some kind of wimp?"
I glare at her and wipe my hand on my pants to rid it of blood. She jumps back at me and attempts to stab at my arm again, but I grab her arm that's holding the knife, hold her arm in the air and punch her in the side. She winces in pain and her grip on the knife loosens for a moment. I use this temporary lapse in strength and wrestle the knife from her grasp. I take a step back and I flip the knife around in my hand.
"Wimp! You're the one who just stood there and watched!" I growl.
I step forward, and slice her shoulder. She seems to take little notice and punches me in the side. I knock both her arms to the side and use the opening to dig the knife into her shoulder. I feel the sickeningly satisfying glide of the knife as it stabs a deep gash into her skin. She lets out a bloodcurdling yell as I pull the knife out of her arm. She clutches her arm and stumbles back, her hand quickly turning red as it catches the blood gushing from her wound. I can only faintly feel the pain of my own injures thanks to the adrenaline coursing through my veins. I focus my attention to the girl. She looks like she's shaking and I can practically feel the anger radiating off of her.
Suddenly, I see little flames curling up around her legs. The little orange flames flicker in the wind as they spread up her body, curling around her limbs and engulfing her in the flames. At first I think she's on fire, but then I notice nothing on her is burning. The flames are just spreading over her skin, dancing as if there is something there to fuel it, but there isn't. The fire is coming from her. A look of pure horror crossed over her face when she saw she was on fire, but when she realized the flames were coming from her, her lips slowly tugged up into a smirk. I try to take a step back but she quickly swings her arm around and grabs my arm. I clench my jaw to stop myself from screaming out in pain. I jerk my arm out of her grasp, but she brings her other arm around and clamps it down on my shoulder. It sends a sharp pain running across my shoulder and up my neck. I jerk my shoulder out of her grasp and spin around, just in time to see the fire hydrant behind us explode.
The explosion sends scraps of red metal flying by, and drenches us both in water. I turn back around to face the girl. The force of the water has pushed her up against the wall, and she's soaking wet, her platinum blonde hair plastered to her forehead as all the flames put out. All of a sudden the water started flowing in our direction from the pools at the hydrant, trickling, pooling, spilling closer and closer to us. It began to rise, and swirl up around my body. It pools over where she burned me, helping to soothe the ache. She looks at me in astonishment and I grin. Now we're back on even playing ground. I lunge forward with the knife and stab her in the stomach.
I hear her shout out in pain as I mutter. "Wimp? Who's helpless now?"
I twist the knife in her stomach and I can feel her sway slightly. I hear the sound of police sirens getting louder and louder as the red and blue lights of cop cars begin to reflect off of the water covering the sidewalk. I back up, leaving the knife in her stomach.
"Until we meet again!" I say as I tip my imaginary hat and take off running down the sidewalk.
