The Hill Chase

Great Halberos Forest.

          One of the oldest forest to exist in this world. Its said it hides a portal that connects the Middle Realm to the Void, a neutral dimension, Believe to be home of the Gods.

Its separates the Demon Empire, The Elven Kingdoms, and the Human Nations.

A agreement was made that the Halberos Forest would stand as a symbol peace and equality between the three species.

But this type of agreements dont really last.. no?..

Feel of moist earth and the soft grass.... the soft chatter of the wildlife....

'So nice.... so soft.... peaceful...'

"GGGWWWRRRAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

I open my eyes at the loud noise, and look around me.....

'Where am I?
Grass..... Sunlight.....
Meadow?....nah...Too small..'

'Trees........
Clearing?.... Too humpy..'

'Hill? Yes, small hill....'
.
.
.

'.....Why am I in a hill??...'

'Hungry..'

I sit up to look around more, but then notice hands, no my hands.. small hands... I tried to stand up slowly but I keep falling on my butt again,

'How hard it is to stand in this puny legs!',

too focused on the task to even acknowledged the huge shadow looming over me.

'Hungry...'

Finally being able to stand I swatted the dirt away from the big white tunic Im wearing, clearly three sizes too big for me.
I realized it suddenly got too dim then, dark.

'Huh? Dark.... Night? Not night.. I just woke up!.. so no..'

'Hungry...'

I turned to see...
a huge ugly bear with long arms,
drooling excessively. Leering at me.
I stared curiously.... straining my neck to look at its its ugly face.

'Food??'

I sniffed at it lightly but sneeze at the smell afterwards,

Regretting to even thinking of eating it....

I turned around to look for other food.

3rd Person POV:

Pissed by the lack of reaction from its prey, the beast swung its huge claw with an angery roar!

The little girl to focused on walking straight turned to look back at the annoying bear but lost her balance and fell on her back,
Narrowly missing a forceful swing that could've made her a nice red streak on the grassy ground canvas.

Upon contact to the ground, the girl turned into a bluish-white ball of light. Confused upon acquiring a new form, she tried to move around, but also managed to roll down the side of the hill.

The beast look around, confused all the same upon seeing not a drop of red in sight. Stubbornly refusing to give up, it sniff and look around in search of its prey.

The ball slammed against a boulder. The girl turned back from her lightball form.
'Gah! Whattheheck?!'

Disoriented from the dizzy ride, she stumbles around trying to walk a straight line.

'Uggghhh... Dizzy... Hungry..   Food...'

The beast caught her scent on the side of the hill and turned to see his prey stumbling dizzily through the trees in a narrow forest path gaining distance, too fast for its liking, and give chase.

The chase continued a little longer than the beast expected of a tumbling mess, but instead giving in out of annoyance, it persist still.

Lured by the alluring smell of pure magic from its prey, the beast chased it deeper into the woods, into a river, and lastly a clearing with a big dark tree where he cornered it between two huge roots.

And at last the beast caught up..

The girl in and out of ball form, finally managed to stop and sit, facing the huge dark tree. Weak and dizzy.

'Hungry.... Food..'

Snatching it by its collar, the beast cackled in delight. Finally having the chance to eat afterk so long. But he stopped in his tracks when suddenly his surroundings turned pitch black.
He look at his prey to see it staring at him with hollow eyes. A shiver ran down his spine.

"You smell bad...." a blob of water manifested from the air, encasing the beast. The lack of air, made him loose hold of its prey. The blob turned into a spot whirlling, swirling violently taking the beast round and round.

"and youre too ugly..." the swirling stop as the water evaporated abruptly. The beast fell back to the hard black floor.

"but im really hungry now so..." Furios at the bizarre happening the bear snatched the kid off the ground but...

"You wouldnt mind... being eaten.. would you?" She grinned showing her sharp teeth, eyes seem to glow predator

The clearing morphed into somewhat akin to what hell would look like.

He look around him panicking, feeling the extensive heat, as the flames grew around him. He looked back to his prey to see it melting away burning his hand in the process. His fur then began to shed uncontrollably.

He yelped in agony, stumbling back and into the burning ground.

The clearing morphed back to the way it is.

The girl stood silently at the slightly charred corpse of the beast, laying motionless on the unscorched grass.

As if waking up in a trance. She shook her head, then sneezing against the cool breeze.

Burnt flesh filled the air, she whipped her head to the source.

"Food!"
