Returning To The Town Of Mysteries

Ch.1 Returning

It has been a few years since Mabel and Dipper left Gravity Falls and the weirdness behind. Continuing their life back home with the hope of returning one day.

Now they were eighteen, graduated and on a bus back to the town they once spent their summer, discovering the mysteries the town held.

They had received the news of their trip just a little under a week ago, right after their graduation ceremony. Their mother handing them the bus tickets the morning after, saying that they needed the break and thought they might enjoy going back.

So here they are, sitting on the bus with Mabel pressing her face to the window as they passed the “Welcome to Gravity Falls” sign.

Dipper had to admit he was ecstatic to be back, but he was also curious. Letting his mind wander to a certain dream demon they defeated all those years ago. "I wonder what Soos has done with the statue." He mumbled as he steps off the bus with Mabel, heading down a familiar path.

They hadn't told anyone they were coming and their mother promised not to tell. This was Mabel's plan. A surprise visit so to speak.

"What was that bro, bro?" Mabel skipped ahead, glancing back as her brother. She was still similar to her younger self. The sweaters, crazy stickers, and of course Waddles, who walked alongside her.

Dipper hasn't changed much either. Still had the Pine tree hat, a navy blue jacket and jeans that replaced his vest and shorts, though the jacket had faded with time.

"Oh nothing Mabel." He brushed her off as they approached the mystery shack. "Now that definitely hasn't changed" Dipper laughed as they entered the shack.

"HEY GUYS!" Mabel shouted as they entered, causing the people who were in the shack to turn and look.

"No way dudes!" Soos quickly recognized us and made his way over to give us a big hug, along with (now his wife) Melody. "We've missed you guys" Soos said as he squeezed us in his arms.

"ah! We m-missed you too man" Dipper gasped out as he tapped Soos' arm. He placed them down as the Grunkles walked into the shack, stopping in their tracks when they see the twins.

"You guys didn't mention you were coming to visit" Great uncle Ford said as he walked over to them, giving them each a hug. "We wanted it to be a surprise for everyone" Mabel smiled as Grunkle Stan ruffled our hair.

"Well then you kids better get upstairs to unpack if you're staying the whole summer. We have a lot to catch up on." He laughed as the twins laughed as well, grabbing their suitcases and headed up the stairs to their old room.

So! *claps hands* it's been like, what? Two years since I first started this? Welp, a lot has changed since then and honestly, I cringed when I was reading this again. Who allowed me to do this? Geez.

*clears throat*

Any who! I'm back, in college now but that's not important! I'm back and rewriting this! So hopefully it'll end up being better and better paced. Yes I aged them up more well because of somethings I might do later on in this story.

Now!  This is just a side hobby now so updates won't be constant but I still hope you all will enjoy!
