A Dream Comes True

Jeremy couldn't sleep.

He had been trying to for the past hour.

Stars sprinkled the night sky in their shimmering light as he once again looked up at them, sighing. Sprawling out on the green grass below him, he frowned.

Those stars reminded him of someone.

"Oh, how long must this wait be?" He asked quietly, "It is too long for me..."

It had been a few months since Jeremy had come to Pepperland. Ever since The Beatles had left, he had been looking forward to when they'd meet again. However, the wait had been much more aggravating than he thought it would be.

And it was all because of one person.

Jeremy sighed, slowly standing up.

"If only he stayed here with me, these shining stars he would see," He said softly, staring up at the night sky.

Ringo was the one who he missed the most.

His three friends were all great, but, to Jeremy, Ringo was special. If it hadn't been for him, Jeremy would have never came to Pepperland.

The Chief and Max, along with all of the other blue meanies and people around, were all a joy to be with, but Jeremy still wanted him back.

He wondered what he was doing now.

"Oh, my dear friend, when will this wait for you end?"

Jeremy stared forward as he slowly began to walk.

He did not know where to go. If there was anyone left awake, they were most likely far away, and even then, who would be looking for him at this time of night?

"I suppose a walk should clear my mind, or else my patience would unwind."

Jeremy sighed, looking down at the ground as he continued to walk.

He was so lost in thought that he didn't see that Old Fred was walking up behind him.

"Uh, Jeremy?" Old Fred spoke.

Scared by the sudden noise, Jeremy swiftly turned around, letting out a small gasp in the process. The momentum caused him to fall down on the ground.

He looked up.

"W-why Old Fred, dear, you almost made me shriek in fear," he let out a soft chuckle in embarrassment.

"Well, I wasn't expecting you to be up this late, you know. I was just walking back from making sure that Lord Mayor and yer blueness were getting along."

"By yer blueness, you mean the Chief? The one who used to be a music thief?"

"Of course."

A moment of silence passed.

Old Fred slowly sat down in front of Jeremy, a caring look spreading across his face. Jeremy was perplexed by it.

"Jeremy, what were you talking about earlier?" Old Fred asked quietly.

Jeremy's eyes widened.

"W-whatever do you mean? I d-didn't know that my longing c-could be seen."

"You were talking about wanting a friend back. Jeremy," Old Fred paused for a moment, sighing, "tell me, who do you miss?"

Jeremy had a feeling that Old Fred already knew the answer.

"Y-you already know, I don't have to tell you so."

"It's Ringo, isn't it?"

Jeremy hung his head.

"Y-yes..." His voice was quiet.
