"Percy, I need you to tell me what is going on with you, right now. I know you miss your mom, that's totally fine, I miss her too. Percy, you need to realize, she'll be back in three days. You're 17 years old. You need to be able to survive a week without your mother. We'll be going to college soon." Annabeth stood at Percy's bedroom door with her forehead against it.

"Percy...Percy...please come out here...you're worrying me. Percy?" She was about to knock again when the door suddenly opened.

"Hey Annabeth..."

"Percy..." She threw herself into him to wrap her arms around him in a hug.

"You scared me..."

"I know. I'm sorry Annabeth. I really miss my mom but I've been a bad friend. It's not being fair to you." He says as he hugs her. A part of him stinging as he wished that they could be more than friends.

"I'm just glad you're talking to me. You were scaring me. I was almost on the verge of crying."

"No...don't cry, Annabeth...I'm sorry."

"It's oka-"

Suddenly she collapsed into his arms.

"Annabeth? Annabeth?! Are you okay?!"

He picked her up and carried her to the bed.

"Annabeth?! Annabeth please answer me."

He desperately held her face close to his. Searching for something in her eyes to tell him how to help her. What he actually saw in them, however, he could barely stand to see. Annabeth in pain. She was so scared, her eyes wide and breaths short.

A tear slid down her cheek as she shook and trembled throughout her whole body. Then something clicked in his brain....Panic attack... He knew she had them of course, but he'd never been around for one...only the aftermath.

"P...Per...Percy"

"Shh...shh, it's okay Wise Girl. You're going to be okay. Don't try to say anything. I need you to try to relax. I'm right here.

"Don't go"

He put on a slight smile, trying to be as encouraging as possible,

"It's okay Annabeth, I'm not leaving anytime soon."

A tear slipped down his cheek and fell into her golden princess curls.

He buried his face in her hair, rubbing circles on her back. He breathed in the smell of her lemon shampoo. He tried to calm himself down as well because there was no way that he could help his Wise Girl if he was a mess.

Soon enough her shaking became less and less.

"Perce..."

He looked up at her eyes. They were red and swollen.

"Hey..." He gave her a light smile and moved closer to the head of his bed so they could sit up.

"Hey..." She returned it.

"Are you okay?" He asked with worried eyes.

"Yeah," She said with a questionable tone, suddenly trying to avoid eye contact.

"Are you sure...you can tell me the truth. You know that right?" He tipped up her chin to look him in the eyes.

"Yes, Percy." Her lip quivered and that's how he could tell she was lying.
