Dear George,
Sorry that I keep forgetting to write in here. It's just that bein' a Beatle is so much work and you have so little free time! I had lost my little journal, honestly, but I had just found it today!! Rather than explaining all that happened, I'm going to tell you all of what happened today:
I got my tonsils removed.
Yeah, bye-bye little tonsils. I was very nervous to get them taken out, but I didn't have much of a choice in this situation. I checked into the University College Hospital --which sounds so official--- and I got surgery. George (real George, not you.) offered to come in with me, because that's the kind of man that he is. I told him that I was plenty capable, and I went in all by myself. No John. No Maureen. Just me. I brought this little journal with me, so that I could record all of my crazy thoughts afterwards. It's a good thing the group doesn't let me sing many songs, because if we were at a concert I couldn't even think to start singing. My throat feels like it's on fire, and that's not a pleasant feeling at all. George ended up coming in to check on me when I was awake, and he's helping me with all of my spelling and grammar, although I don't need too much help anymore. We're only talking a little bit. I'm writing and eating big scoops of ice cream, which is very nice.
But hey! Get this! Our new album comes out in only two short days!!! TWO! I can't wait, and the fans can't wait either!!
I actually sing a song on this record, which makes me really happy! This song is called 'Honey Don't', and it's our band's cover of the song by Carl Perkins! John probably could've done it much better than me, but I didn't have a song on A Hard Day's Night: our album released earlier this year (and the one that we made an actual movie out of!!). John and Paul said that I have a growing number of fans, and that means that they're givin' me more parts! That's why I got this song! While we were trying to record it, back in May, the guitar parts sounded funny. John and George (not. you.) were really frustrated with it, so they asked Carl Perkins himself! He was invited to one of our parties in late May, and we found out that it was supposed to be played in the key of E. Georgie shot John an 'I told you so!' kind of thing, and soon enough, we were back in the studio and recording our song. What a story, right? ...Not really, I need better stories about my own self. Anyway, here are the lyrics to the song:
Well how come you say you will when you won't
Say you do, baby, when you don't?
Let me know honey how you feel
Tell the truth now, is love real?
But ah ah well honey don't, well honey don't
Honey don't, honey don't, honey don't
I say you will when you won't, ah ah, honey, don'tWell I love you, baby, and you ought to know
I like the way you wear your clothes
Everything about you is so doggone sweet
You got that sand all over your feet
But ah ah well honey don't, honey don't
Honey don't, honey don't, honey don't
I say you will when you won't, ah ah, honey, don'tAh, rock on George, one time for me.
I feel fine.
I said.Well sometimes I love you on a Saturday night
Sunday morning you don't look right
You've been out painting the town
Ah ah baby, been stepping around
But ah ah well honey don't, I said honey don't
Honey don't, honey don't, honey don't
I say you will when you won't, ah ah, honey, don'tAh, rock on George, for Ringo one time.
Well honey don't, well honey don't
I say you will when you won't, ah ah, honey, don'tIn all honesty, I think my voice sounds great on this track!! I think George agrees, because I gave him shoutouts so many times in between! "Rock on, George", and he definitely did rock on. I wish you could actually speak with George, he's my best friend, and I think you'd see why if you got to speak with him! Well, I'm getting a little tired, but I'll write in here later this week when my throat isn't burning and I actually have some decent stories to tell!
Goodbye now (I asked George if he wanted to say 'goodbye', he just shrugged and said "if you want".)
So, goodbye, "if you want"!!!!,
-R****
(I love it!)
