Reaching Out

I wrote everything I knew about Amy in that letter.

That was going to be the last of what Cathy would hear from me.

I fold it up and put it in an envelope and stuffed it in my back pocket and ran out with my keys to drive to Amy's place.

This was the last time I'd be able to see my best friend and my love. How could I mess up this bad? Did I really have all this anger for her? It couldn't be possible. I love her so much. I've hurt her a lot and this time I can't take it back.

I reach at Amy's building and try and call the lift. It was taking too long. I run up the stairs as fast as I can.

I reach at the 10th floor, and walk in the passage trying to gather my thoughts and face Cathy.

I ring the doorbell and Amy answers the door.

"What the fuck are you doing here? You hurt my girlfriend and even after I warn you, you are still here? You are impossible."

"Amy hear me out, I just want to talk to Cathy once. Just once. I want to tell her I didn't mean to do any of it. "

"This is the last time I'm telling you Kiyara, Cathy doesn't want to meet you. So, just get the fuck out of here."

"Okay. Just one thing. Give this to her. I know she doesn't want to see me. But, just give this to her. That's all I want. She needs to know the truth. I'll never bother her again."

She takes the letter and slams the door on my face. I walk out of the apartment. Her smile, it's so vibrant, just fills my heart with light. I know I can't forget her. But, she'll never forget what I did to her.

I walk out of the building and see Cathy sitting on the windowsill and Amy reading her the letter I gave. She took the letter in her hand, read it again and saw me and tore the letter. I couldn't get it, Why would she do that? I saw the pain in her eyes even through the window and knew I had to leave.

I started my bike and left for home.

It often happens that people get blinded by love. They seem to forget what they are. They even can't see through the person they love. Neither can they see the person who loves them. Validation then becomes a need and makes the person beg and plead for love which changes everything. Because what is love if it is not unconditional, pure and free-flowing?
