(Honestly i don't know where i am going with this, please don't roast me with my bad English)
Chapter 1
Fuck them, fuck this.
I can believe how she treats me, she's such a fucking hypocrite
As I mouth off to my mum in my head, the sting of her cigarette butt still lingers on the back of my hand.
In hindsight I probably did deserve it. I mean I haven't gone to school for over 6 weeks and the guy in my bed was at least 5 years older. I shrug
As I stomp along the path heading away from grandma's house, where we have to reluctantly stay, I start to notice the mark where mum burnt me, stinging more than usual. I mean this isn't the first time but usually I wrap it in gauze, and it fades over time. But this time it's really burning.
I stop my trudging and run towards the sound of flowing water. Jumping over slippery rocks and loose gravel I make my way to a riverbed. By now the burning is so intense I start to feel dizzy.
If I pass out in this river, I am going to be so angry
I dunk my hand in flowing water, instantly feeling cooler but the ache remains.
I'm glad that no one comes out to the woods out here because I'm still dressed in my fluffy pyjamas, a pair of rain boots and the faded orange rain jacket I threw on over the top.
My hand begins to feel numb from the icy water and notice the frost that has accumulated along the grass around me. The mon is high above me and illuminating the grove around me in a beautiful gloom.
My hand still aches but its just a dull thud now. I pull out the packet of cigarettes and a lighter that I shoved in my pocket as I left the house only minutes ago. As I light the stem, I sit down, laying my head against the trunk of a moss infected tree, finally breathing a sign or relief.
Being out here again makes me feel like a child again, visiting grandma on Christmas and running around with my make pretend friends. But now I'm back here, it's only November, mum's a wreck and I have no friends. As I take a long drag the wind picks up and the sound of crunching leaves comes from behind me.
Fuck!
I quickly extinguish the cigarette in the frosted grass in-case its grandma coming to find me. the crunching gets closer as I stand on my feet and attempt to still my breathing.
Shit. Shit. Shit. If she finds me, I am dead meat.
The crunching stops, or maybe I just think it does since my heartbeat is so loud, I could give an obese kid entering a marathon a run for his money. I sit for a moment before I convince myself that its just a small animal or just the wind.
I mean that's what the hot girl in every horror movie tells herself and she always makes it out. Oh I'm just being stupid. How many people are awake at...I look at the hello kitty watch on my wrist and let out a long breath... 3:34 am! Fuckkkk
I push my self away from the tree, silently take two steps to the left and look to where the noise was coming from. Over the river bed and behind a tree or two is a dark figure, out of the moonlight looking like a tall shadow.
Okay that's definitely not my grandma.
I try to move back behind the tree hidden from view but step on a small frosted stick and it snaps, allowing a small crunch to echo through the clearing.
Really! Only me, for fuck sake. Maybe it didn't hear me.
As if reading my mind, it lets out a slight movement which must be its neck snapping towards my direction. Stepping into the moonlight I see him for the first time, and he sees me.
Piercing green eyes that match mine stare me down. His high angled face is framed with glowing silver hair that stays dead still despite the cool November breeze that has been blowing since I left the house. He his dressed in clothing so stiff it must be leather, decorated in a pattern that dance and swirl around his whole body.
Despite his obvious beauty he stares me down with anger that looks hungry painted in the moons light.
"hello darling, I've been looking for you" his voice comes out like a melody, making me want to tell him all my secrets and yet never open my mouth.
I almost wish it was grandma.
