Chapter 8

"With how many people are in this city I wonder how many accidents there are on the roads?" I asked Leonardo as we waited to cross.

"Don't say that I don't wanna think about it" We both turned to the road to see if the light's have changed but all we saw was a guy getting hit by a van.

"Definitely dead" I commented as the guy's body flew then bounced on the ground a couple of times until it stopped completely.

"Are you alright?" Leonardo asked cornered.

"Can you give me a bite of that burger?" The guy got up.

"How are you alive?" I asked interested.

"I don't have a skeleton like a human" He got up and twisted around showing he is fine "So please give me your burger?" He asked again.

"Please!" He begged repeatedly but Leonardo was too confused to answer.

"That was dangerous you dumbass!" A fat guy who was driving the van who came over with his work partner who is nervously standing behind him "This isn't on us! You're the one who ran out on to the road!"

"You guys could have squished him like a pancake," I told them while imagining it.

"You still hit him quite hard you should at least exchange addresses," Leonardo told them.

The fat guy rejected his suggestion "Burgers must be your favourite food I would have done the same for gummy bears" I get why he did it.

"I'm not letting you do that" Leonardo grabbed my hand to make sure I don't go into the road.

The nervous guy went back to the van and brought back a half-eaten "Wait it's half-eaten!" Leonardo shouted.

"Well, he likes it," I told him as the guy ate it like a hamster "Maybe he's part hamster."

The other two left because they are delivering something, and they don't want to be late, we crossed the road and got back to the office with the food. I dodged and kicked Zapp away because Leonardo has his food and I got some for me and dad.

I ate the food with dad as we played that game again "Why do like gummy bears so much?" Zapp asked curiously as I ate my food.

"Because they remind me of my dad like dad looks like a bear to people he is frightening and intimidating, but he is actually sweet and soft like a gummy bear" I explained and I saw dad is still eating, but he now has the biggest smile on his face.

"Hey, I'm like your brother right?" Zapp asked with a smirk expecting me to say yes.

"A horrible one that I don't like" I answered, "I like Leonardo more he is kind."

Zapp freaked out saying how unfair it is that he has known me much longer than Leonardo has.

Leonardo and me went out again the next day around the same time and found the guy there again doing some weird dance with a pole "Is that what pole dancing is?" I asked Leonardo.

"WHAT!? NO!" He yelled with a blush on his face.

"Squishy guy, you okay?" I asked getting his attention.

"Oh, hello people who didn't give me a burger," He told us and it annoyed Leonardo I didn't care.

"Are you waiting for something?" Leonardo asked.

"They are here! I have been waiting!" Squishy yelled while jumping happily.

It was the two delivery guys from yesterday "Here four Jack cheese rocket burgers" The guy handed him the bag with the burgers in it.

The guy said a huge amount of money just for the burgers, and he was already eating them as Leonardo shouted at them for how outrageous the price is.

For the rest of the day, we taught the guy not to fall for things like that, and we went around the city together. We ate burgers together in the park, and I went home before them a day later I heard Leonardo was in the hospital.

We rushed there to find he was in a mass amnesia incident "Weren't you with squishy?" I asked.

"Who?" He asked confused.

"We hanged out with him yesterday he asked us for a burger and got hit by a car remember?" I asked and he shook his head.

Dad put his hand on my shoulder he picked me and took me out, I searched for Squishy around the usual place but I couldn't find him when Leonardo was discharged a couple of days later I demanded that we go to Jack and Rockets he was hungry, so he agreed. I looked everywhere for squishy on the way we got the food and I still haven't seen him, so I started feeling even more disappointed maybe I dreamed everything and it was so realistic looking I thought it was real.

"Why did I order enough for three?" Leonardo mumbled as we waited at the crossing he took out two burgers and gave me one.

After we crossed he stopped and started crying making me panic "Leo?"

"Why am I crying over a cheeseburger?" Leonardo asked me.

I was gonna answer but I saw someone running to us "Squishy!" I yelled out to him.

He got hit by a truck again I took a burger out of the bag and ran to him with Leonardo.

"Could you please give me a bite of that burger?" He got up and asked us.

"Here is a whole burger but you have been our friend forever and never disappear on us again," I told him.

"Huh? Have we met before?" Leonardo asked as Squishy took the burger.

"We have never met and I accept Leah" Squishy answered and finished the burger "Now let me have a bite of your burger?"

"Okay" Leonardo handed him his burger "My name is Leonardo Watch what's yours?"

"Amagranoff Luozontam Ouv Lee Nej" He answered.

"That is even more confusing than my dad's name I'm gonna keep calling you Squishy" I decided.

"I like that" Squishy agreed, and we are all our food together again in the park just like before.
