Madi: *steals coens Letterman jacket, putting it on* heyyyy I like this oneeee
Coen: *shakes his head, walking*

Madi: *grabs his hand* do you wanna go on a little walk with your bestie?
Coen: *looks at her, hesitating* I mean I just got done at practice I should probably get home it's late

Coen: *sighs* ok fineeee I'll go
Madi: *kisses his cheek, smiling* yay!!!!

Abby: *driving to the docs*
Nicole: *gripping the doorhandle* good lord why are you going so fast!!?
Abby: Important business
Parker: *used to it by now, going through the pictures on Nicole's tablet* wait so Madi met you guys at this coffee place daily
Nicole: yes she had a thing for that place because it was coens favorite journalling hangout, she took us all there just so she could run into him if he wasn't already with us
Parker: *confused, thinking*
Abby: *goes over a speed bump* fifty points
Nicole: did you just!!? *Holding on tighter*
Abby: nah just messing with you *wink*
Nicole: oh good lord *sinks into the seat*
Parker: wait wasn't Madi in love with coen?
Nicole: nobody really knows, she acted like they were together one minute then the next she was making out with Nixon behind the bleachers.
Parker: so her and Coen never actually dated
Nicole: no but you wouldn't know that by looking at them
Parker: what do you mean?
Nicole: well it could have just been a Bestfriend thing, but I'm pretty sure Bestfriends don't almost kiss on purpose, they held hands and hugged every ten seconds and they were just that, there was no Madi or Coen it was always them. They were always together
Abby: you didn't get one without the other basically, Madi was obsessed with him for some damn reason
Parker: creepy
Nicole: beyond creepy
Abby: Madi told me she liked Coen, that she wanted him, but the fact that Coen didn't want her the same way pissed her off
Parker: Coen didn't want her?
Abby: no, Coen had feelings for someone else at the time, but never Madi.
Parker: wait so nights not coens first relationship?
Abby: night is yes, Coen never went through with anything, Madi used to threaten him all the time, just because she was jealous
Parker: *headshake, looking back to the tablet* what was her problem
Nicole: at the end of the day it comes down to one thing and one thing only....
Abby: jealousy.
Parker: what do you mean?
Nicole: Madi started to get jealous of Coen other people "stole" her bestfriend from her, her words. She wanted Coen to herself and she couldn't have that
Abby: when Coen met Callie and Luke started hanging with us more, and when you came into the picture, Coen shifted from Madi a little bit, he was busy couldn't text as much, or call, or basically he couldn't be as devoted to her as she wanted him to be
Parker: so she lashed out on him?
Nicole: that's not all she did......

Madi: *pissed, waiting by the gym*
Coen: *walks out of the gym, his bag in hand*
Madi: Coen what the hell!!
Coen: what? What did I do!? *Stops in his tracks*
Madi: where have you been!? Do my texts mean nothing to you!?
Coen: I was at prac-
Madi: *Mocking him* "I was at practice Madi I'm sorry"
Coen: how the hell do I text you in the water!?
Madi: you get breaks you know!
Coen: not to fucking text!
Callie: *walking the halls, passing the two*
Madi: hey!! You!!
Callie: *looks* c..can..I help you?
Madi: *slaps her*
Coen: Madi! What the hell!! *Drops his bag*
Callie: *stumbles back, shocked*
Madi: oops my bad
Coen: *moves in-between them, putting his hand on Callie's shoulder* are you ok?
Madi: *takes coens art supplies, trashing the trophy case outside of the gym*
Coen: Madi what the hell is your problem!!?
Madi: you are!!
Principal: *turns the corner* hey! You three what's going on here!?
Madi: sir! Sir! *Rushes over to him* I caught this boy vandalizing the trophy case and harassing this poor girl!
Coen: *jaw tense, his gaze darkening*
Principal: Coen Austin I expected better! Come now. *Grabs coens arm, dragging him off*

Abby: that was a few weeks before Madi died, after that Coen couldn't even look at her, let alone me around her
Nicole: he disappeared, he stopped texting and calling back, he stopped hanging out, he stopped Everything.
Abby: Because of Madi Coen almost lost his spot as captain on the swim team
Parker: *headshake, hooked* what happened?
Nicole: Coen was heartbroken, Madi broke her promise
Parker: what promise?
Abby: Madi made Coen a promise when they first met
Nicole: she promised to be the one person he could trust, if he couldn't trust anyone else, she promised she'd never turn against him
Abby: and that's exactly what she did, Coen lost a lot of things because of Madi, including his friends, a few scholarships, but especially his reputation
Nicole: that's when Coen started getting bullied, and by all of Madi's friends
Abby: that was the start to it all
Parker: *looks out the window* how did it all end?
Nicole: all I know is Coen and Madi got in a fight, and then that night, Madi was gone.
Parker: *looks at Nicole* you mean.....
Nicole: the night Coen turned 17 the night he finally stood up for himself, the night he wanted to be different, is the night Madi died.
Abby: she took all she could and more from him, all because he didn't wanna feel lost anymore
Nicole: all because he did what all of us wanted to do, but could never find the courage to do
Parker: and what was that?
