Kyla smiled at Jane who was pointing out a clouds in the sky above them. They were hanging out in their favorite place which was a mostly abandoned field. They've been best friends for about 7 years now and in the past year Kyla realized she began to fall for her best friend. She didnt knoe how to tell her though. She knew Jane was attracted to girls, but she didnt know if Jane was attracted to her. Kyla took a deep breath, deciding to tell Jane about her feelings.
"Hey, Jane?" Kyla said, more confidently than she felt.
"Yes, Kyla?" Jane looked over at her.
"Um... Well um..." Kyla tried to speak but she felt nervousness bubble inside her.
"What's the matter? Is something wrong?" Jane asked
"No.. I was just wondering when our math homework was due.." Kyla sighed.
Oh well. Maybe next time.
