G.H.O.S.T

Prologue

Oh no! I feel terrible. I ache all over; my head, my back, my hands and feet. I can hear screaming and shouting coming form down stairs. I get off my bed, trembling. What's going on? I tiptoe downstairs, my heart is thudding in my chest, my palms are sweating, and my head is throbbing. I peer over the banister, and I look in the mirror near the door, I have a clear view of what's going on in the kitchen. What I see makes my heart stop, my mum is screaming her head off, I've never seen her like this, and my dad is brandishing his umbrella almost as if it is a sword, he brings it down on my mum, and there is a loud crack as the umbrella breaks.

My mum starts swearing her head off, saying words I've never heard her use before, there is blood on the floor. My dad is also swearing and screaming, and his red in the face, he punches my mum, she hits her head on the side of the table, and hits the floor...she's unconscious. My dad gets a long kitchen knife, and starts to bring it down on my mum! I start screaming, and screaming. I slip down the stairs, and bang my head whilst tumbling. I start to blackout, my own screams echoing in my ears...
