It was hours before we could see civilization, I looked back tiredly to see the building we were held in was hidden by the countless trees surrounding it. Given that we were basically in a forest I suggested to her that we should find water. As soon as I finished my sentence she stopped walking and put her hand on my chest to stop me as well, the sound of flowing water could be heard within the moment of silence we had and we looked around only to see to our right there was a river. She quickly rushed to it and dropped to her knees at the edge and took off her mask to rub the blood off of her face and get a quick drink to stay hydrated. I shortly heard a truck coming and she stopped, I rushed over to her and took off my mask as well and splashed my face to stay awake and clean the blood off of it. She gave me and exhausted look and shook her head in confusion.

What's wrong? I asked. As the wind blew calmly she continued to wash her face and finally responded.

"I just don't understand why they would want anything to do with you, I just don't get it" She said.

Look don't worry about it right now we need to get to civilization and lay low, I said.

She nodded in agreement and got up, as the truck passed by I gave her a hug.

"W-what the hell are you doing?" She asked.

Nothing I just wanted to thank you for getting me out of there regardless I didn't show any appreciation at first, I said.

She grabbed her mask and gave me a confused look.

"I didn't just do it for you, I did it for both of us because if it were just me out into the world, how am I supposed to go up against a criminal organization and government alone?" She said. I put my mask back on and shrugged.

How the hell am I supposed to know? you've got all the skill apparently, I said.

Just...come on, she said as she walked back to the road with me following behind her.

First we're gonna need to get out of these clothes, she said.

It'll be a hassle considering we're covered in blood genius, I commented.

She turned quickly and raised her hand at me and I just stood still staring into her eyes through her mask. What are you gonna hit me? I asked.

She flipped me off without hesitation and kept walking and about 45 minutes later we've finally reached a damp city street, even though it didn't look like it. You could smell the wet concrete and hear the street lights buzzing with no sign of anyone around. It was almost like a moment of suspense you get when watching a scary movie, just waiting for something to happen. Fortunately nothing did so we just kept walking and traded small talk back and forth on which places would be too obvious to stay at or which would be too close to any place that would be government or criminal like. At this point it's 7:28 AM judging by the street clocks and the sun rising, the street lights are turning off and the morning ghouls are coming out so we were in a bit of a time crunch to find a specific place that would suit our needs without being spotted so easily. We came across a building that was in good condition but also had some history to it being that it used to be an underground silo used for holding radioactive resources. At this point we just needed new clothes but for now we needed a bit of rest after the long walk, my legs were aching, head was pounding, arms were heavy, yeah...I could definitely use some rest. I laid down on the hard cold floor as she did the same. Within the few minutes before actually falling asleep I made small talk.

So...you never told me your name? I said.

Why do you need to know my name? she asked.

Well smart ass, I'm kinda new to the whole outlaw test subject thing and so far as I can see it you're the only person I feel like I can trust at the moment seeing you're the one who helped me out of that place, I replied.  A moment of silence and I was already dozing off and almost asleep.   She climbed on top of me and I quickly snapped out of it.

My name is Aiko, and that's all you need to know for now, she said as she pulled off her mask and caressed mine.

May I ask you what the hell you're doing? I asked as I grabbed her hand.                                                    She grabbed my wrist quickly and slammed it on the floor.

"You know...you should be more nice to me, after all of that action I do deserve a reward" She said.

I quickly grabbed her wrist that was grabbing mine.

"Look I'm flattered Aiko but seriously we just walked like 3 hours into civilization I'd appreciate some sleep, maybe fucking later okay? like when we actually know each other like that?" I commented. She gave me a look of disappointment and slapped the shit out of me while I was  wearing my mask.

I'm sorry but what the fuck is your problem? I said as I sat up holding my face through my mask with her still sitting on me. She giggled and said in a very shaken voice.

"It's been a while since...I've been around another guy that resists...it just makes it that much more fun for me" she said as she stared at me.

"But I'll let you get your sleep" she added as she slightly leaned over and kissed my mask.

I pushed her off of me quickly and laid back down.
Really I'm flattered but I only know your name, calm the hell down. I said before dozing off again.

"You're gonna fucking love me! whether you like it or not!" She blurted.

Yeah, yeah what the fuck ever, Sleep! I shouted back.
I quickly fell asleep but then I woke back up due to the floor being cold as shit. I sat up and looked over at Aiko only to see her sound asleep, at that point I just looked around the room only to see it was just us in the room.  Coming to the harsh reality that she's the only sign of warmth and that I barely know her...I accepted what I have now and that was just her from this point on.

"Fuck it." I softly said as I got up and walked over to her and laid down next to her. I kept a few inches away from her but I could feel her body radiating heat and I thought I'd be in the wrong so I just laid on my back and counted sheep in my head. As I did so, I felt her warm, gentle hand come across my chest and wrap around me as she got closer to me and laid her head over my heart, I just accepted it and wrapped my arm around her and quickly dozed off and I was off  to sleep.
