Hannah
It had been just a few weeks since that day. The day that Neville had rescued her from Ben, the day of the almost-whatever-that-was, and the day she had been knocked out by that same boy. That goofy, clumsy, kind, adorab- NO.
Anyways.
Hannah was understandably annoyed at Neville, but she purposely overreacted so she could sort out her head. Why was she thinking all that about Neville? What the fuck was her problem?
If Neville tried to speak to Hannah, she would just glare at him or flick her hair over her shoulder and stalk off. If she was being completely honest, she enjoyed leaving him so dumbfounded, but she would never tell anyone that, it sounded way too much like her past self.
However, as the days went by, and she continued pretending to be annoyed about his clumsiness, he seemed to give up on her.
Now, she was standing in Herbology, waiting for Neville to come up to her, when she realised he was already in the greenhouse. Her eyes narrowed as he talked to Susan Bones, not even glancing in Hannah's direction.
Hmm, it must be a mistake and he'll come to me as soon as he's done with Sue.
But minutes seemed to turn into the entire lesson, and as the lesson continued, Hannah began to feel a sinking disappointment in her stomach. He's not coming. How could she have been so stupid? Enjoying Neville's suffering for a petty reason, while also having a very small yet very weird (crush?) idea about him.
Oh for fucks sake, I have enough of a reason, don't I?
But she didn't, and that was enough to force her to walk up to Neville.
As she grew closer to Neville who was busy with his own plant, she started to feel butterflies. Whoever called the butterflies must've been an idiot though, she felt as though her stomach was turning itself inside out. With every step, her pulse began to quicken, and her palms became clammy.
What the fuck!
A few steps more to go, and Neville looked up, finally noticing Hannah in front of him. His dark eyes caught the sunlight and turned to dark honey, and as Hannah caught his eye, she knew with an extra twist in her stomach that she had turned bright red.
Hannah had stopped and was now breathing quickly. The only thing she could see was Neville, the rest of the world blurred out. Neville raised an eyebrow at her, hurt shown deep in his eyes, yet his face remained polite.
Someone coughed loudly next to Neville, and that was enough to snap Hannah out of her trance, and wrench her attention away. Evie stood there with an incredibly amused expression playing across her face.
Mortified, Hannah glanced back at Neville, who now looked concerned for her, as if she were crazy!
Not being able to take it anymore, Hannah whirled around, and flew out of the classroom, tears beginning to stream down her face.
What was that?? I'm just so bloody stupid.
Hannah had no idea where she was going, she just had to get away from him. What was that feeling? Why on earth would she do that?
Running down an unknown corridor, her shoes squeaked as she abruptly turned into a random broom cupboard, and letting her tears dissolve her into a shuddering mess.
Since when did anyone let alone Neville Longbottom have this sort of an effect on Hannah Abbott?
