You contemplated the level of insanity, the idea bouncing around in your head, was going to take. You were here at, and had successfully infiltrated, none other than your ex's pool party.Your breathing was gradually picking up its pace as you tugged and rolled the neck string of your flashy, golden bikini top between your index and thumb.
You knew how much he hated it when you wore that particular swimming suit. It was pretty revealing - you had to admit.
The bottom's design was more in the ballpark of a thong and the thin fabric couldn't properly conceal the gentle bump of your nipples when they perked up.
Still - you fully intended on making an impression and your stomach was clenching with both nerves and excitement.
You weren't this daring when you had met Sebastian.
You were just a shy, quiet, little girl that timidly accepted his invitation for a drink at that muggy club in New York City - one otherwise uneventful, Saturday night.
You didn't know the person he would yank out from within you - or how you would go through the following 'shedding process' - in which you left old carcass pieces of yourself behind every minute spent with him...or rather, with him inside of you.
The thought unleashed an unwelcomed awareness where your thighs parted. It was not as though you were oblivious to how potent of a drug he was - but you were too proud to reach out so you planned to lure him out instead.
You had already lost yourself.
Was there anything else to lose?
A few recognition glances as you strolled alongside the pool - hair swaying, thickly, on your bare, suntanned back.
The broad terrace was fairly packed with party-goers. You didn't know many of them, Seb strived to keep his relationships private, therefore, in your time together you hadn't been around many of his acquaintances - or been out in public much.
You were his dirty little secret and you truly didn't need more, for a short while at least.
In the beginning, the out-of-this-world sex had been enough - an empty bed in the morning was not preferred, yet acceptable.
Then feelings started to surface, like an unrelenting force, they had blind-sided you.
You had realized you were madly in love with him after the fourth night he had shown up at your doorstep.
A smiled tinged with bitterness spread on your glossy lips as you recalled how his head hung underneath his perched up arm at your door frame.
The way his icy blue eyes had unashamedly studied your body before entering your domain. The way his tongue had darted out to wet his lips when his eyes had finished their path to finally fix on yours- it had undone you and at that precise moment, you wished he was yours.
Completely and utterly yours.
The arguments had started after that night - your need for more and his distance in response. Your encounters became more like fighting matches instead of those first few magical moments by the fireplace, the sex became angry... the kisses - stained with resentment. It went from bad to worse in a matter of just a week.
Then there was that day....the day he left and didn't return.
You had cried over him, flooded your pillow, drowning in sheer regret for having fallen in love, you even loathed yourself for wanting more...
