Prologue
<Niall's Pov>
An annoying beeping sound disturbs my peaceful sleep. Wondering if I should ignore the stupid alarm, my thoughts are interrupted when my brother, Greg, comes in my room. "Gee, thanks for knocking Greg. Please come in." I say, my voice dripping with sarcasm. He rolls his eyes and smirks. Next thing I know, I'm covered in ice cold water. Glaring at my brother, I close my eyes and concentrate. I'm to the point when I'm almost bursting into flames, so the water evaporates, leaving my dry. It's my turn to smirk as I open my eyes to a glaring Greg. "Stupid powers." i hear him mutter and i smile. I usher him out of my room and pack my things. Today, I'm going to my new school. Sky High. It's for 'gifted' teens such as myself. I have 5 powers. 1) I can control the 4 elements; fire, water, air, and earth. 2) I can heal others as well as myself. 3) I can shapeshift. 4) I have super strength. 5) I can burst into flames on command. The principal of Sky High, Mr. Cowell, said this is rare as 99% of all gifted teens only have one power. Whatever. I hope I like my new school. Since its the first day of school, everyone has to go to the front of the school and show off his or her power. In my case, powers. I hope this goes well.
