I could hear my mother crying in the other room.
The worst sound I could possibly hear.
Because if I was worried, or stressed, she was the calm one I could go to. I guess I was screwed, then.
Now, I had no one to go to. Even though this was the most terrifying moment in my life.
I had no other choice but to scream into my pillow until my throat became sore. It was the only way to express my feelings fully, and even that left me wanting to talk to someone.
I felt so goddamn alone. And I despised it.
~Three Hours Ago~
The doctors had finally come to a conclusion. The weight loss, the weakness, the constant infections.
Leukemia.
Was that the only thing they could come up with? Nothing else?
I was sitting on the small cot in the cold, white room, staring at the many pointless medical posters tacked to the wall when he broke it to me. I was confused. Sure, they ran tests, they even CAT scanned me. But honestly, I was a bit skeptical when that thought arose. I always thought, well, I'm unlucky enough as it is, it can't be that bad.
