"Hello, Megaine. How're you feeling?" A calm, familiar voice rang in my ear.
I turned around to face Jimin, who was half-smiling at me, looking throughly concerned.
"I'm better, thanks for asking." I replied.
It was true. I was feeling much better now that I was back at school and once again in the company of my best friend, Jennie. I didn't like to accept it, but Jimin's sudden appearance at the school gate, made my day even better. I went in the locker area, not noticing Jennie who'd also joined me.
"Hey sleepy-head!" She said, cheerfully. "What're you thinking about?"
"Nothing," I grinned. ""Let's get to class."
I had almost forgotten one thing. But it came back to me as I entered Biology and saw people glaring at me, as if I had slapped them across the face.
I remembered what had happened before the weekend, when Jimin had made everyone dislike me. Now, as I sat next to Jennie, a boy kicked my chair, and, as I glanced back, he threw a pencil right at my face! I clutched my check, which was now stinging. I could feel blood on it, but I held back my anger and faced the front of the room. I didn't say anything to the boy, but somebody else did.
My eyes widened, as I saw the figure of Park Jimin approaching the window, from which he had witnessed the whole incident.
"You, kid, what's your name?" He asked the boy who had attacked me with a pencil.
"Sammy.." he muttered, turning very red.
"Detention. Tomorrow. After school. At the Head office. And you need to keep your filthy hands to yourself." He said, then winked at me, and left.
I let go of my cheek, blushing. Jennie raised her eyebrows at me and then fetched a tissue and rubbed the blood of my cheek.
I smiled at Jennie and just as I was about to thank her, our Biology professor entered, and began his boring lesson.
The whole day went nicely, but it was in Chemistry class, that someone else decided to taunt me. It was slim, red-headed girl, who had freckles all over her face.
"Hello, attention-seeker. How's it going? Why did you even have to join this school? We were sooo better off without wannabes like you!" She giggled triumphantly and turned around to join her friends.
That was enough. All throughout the day I had been receiving glares and dirty looks from everyone in my school. Now people were beginning to insult me on my face! I was soo angry that i didn't notice Jennie, who had left class. I was beginning to feel confused and I went after her.
I followed her around a corner, where she stopped as she came face to face with Jimin, looking extremely disappointed. I carefully positioned myself so that I would remain unseen by Jennie and also manage to hear their conversation.
"You do realise you've ruined Megaine's life don't you? You think being nice now will make everyone forget what you said about her? Very ill mannered and disrespectful huh? Well what do you think people will call YOU when I let the news out about what you did to Megaine."
Jennies voice was loud and fierce, and even Jimin backed away a few paces.
But when he spoke, his voice was steady.
"That's not true! I love Megaine, okay? I would never try to hurt her again and I'm also very ashamed of myself. I'm going to make things right for her. Maybe you didn't notice how I have detention to the kid who hit Megaine."
"You did, didn't you? And what about the girl who called Megaine and wannabe? What about the 1000 children who were staring at her and throwing her dirty looks all day? Did you have them all detention then? TELL ME! DID YOU?" Jennie replied, turning red with rage.
"Easy.. easy. It'll die off soon. People will get tired of it. Megaines doing really well, she isn't complaining, so you don't need to either. Now if you would excuse me, I need to get to class." He said calmly, before turning round and disappearing through a door.
I got out of my hiding spot, and went over to Jennie. She looked normal now, but her expression was plainly wishing Jimin a painful death. I put my arm around her, and led her back to class.
