I woke with a start, my younger cousin banging on my bedroom door.

"Silas, get up and get dressed or you'll make me late for the party!" Ockie screamed in the obnoxious high and whiny voice she typically used.

The 10 year old girl didn't stop banging on the wood door until I opened it to reveal I was already dressed. I followed the small girl down to the kitchen but ran into her, knocking her over, when she stopped abruptly at the bottom of the stairs.

Peering over her shoulder, I looked around the corner to catch a glimpse of whatever she was staring in awe of. There were 3 voices coming out of the kitchen, Zelda and Cyrus' of course but one other as well belonging to someone out of sight.

"Damn it, I wish I could hear," She hissed.

"Octavia!"

"Fine, dang." She rolled her eyes. She enjoyed swearing like a sailor, because it was something her parents didn't approve of. She went out of her way to get into trouble like that.

For once, Ockie didn't try to get us into trouble by eavesdropping closer to the door. We still strained our ears to try to pick up words.

"We received your letters just a few weeks ago." This was my Aunt Zelda, I knew.

"Yes, I believe you said you would need to consider it." A strange male voice wandered through the door. It was almost sweet and one could certainly tell it would be easy to become fond of him to trust him.

"And I have." Zelda again. "He'll most certainly be going-"

"Zelda, no. We cannot have our son--our nephew, I mean--going there. It's dangerous." Clearly Uncle Cyrus, as he was always so worried.

"Hogwarts is certainly the safest place for Silas," said the strange voice calmly. "Especially now that the spell your family placed has been lifted. Its incredible your family has evaded us for so long; however, I expect, now that he's thirteen, itll be harder to hide as he'll even start to show more signs of being a M—" The voice stopped, as if interrupted by something unheard. "oh? I believe we are no longer having a private conversation."

After just a moment, Cyrus left the kitchen and announced to us: "Please go to the kitchen now, Sie. Ockie, you're coming with me. I'll drop you off at your friends party." Then went out the front door, Ockie following obediently behind.

I walked towards the kitchen and slid through the door. A tall man that appeared to be in his 30s sat across from Aunt Zelda and smiled nervously at me. "Ah, so this is your boy."

"Yessir, Professor." Aunt Zelda said a bit tensely. "My son--er, my nephew, actually--Silas."

The 'professor' looked me over, smiling. He very clearly noticed the strangeness of my eyes, but he apparently thought it was best not to bring it up and he pretended he hadnt noticed. Instead he said, "Hello, young man. I'm Professor Erian Vang, I teach Potion making at Hogwarts School of W-"

I ignored the weird things of his statement to interrupt him, "I'm not changing schools, so if you've only come to advertise-"

"Silas!" Zelda hissed. It was a tone and a glare i knew well; it said this was about something serious and she didn't approve of my reaction. Her expression softened, however, and she suddenly struggled to speak. "You--your parents were..."

"Young man, you're a wizard." Mr Vang said. "In the world, there are non-magical peoples as well as magical peoples. And the witches and wizards in the UK go to the best school of witchcraft and wizardry in the world; Hogwarts. You're now of age to start at the school. As such the school, as well as your aunt, would like you to attend."
