Spells, Charms, And Incantations

UNFORGIVABLE CURSES (and a few extras)

Sectum sempra: Creates deep, fatal wounds in opponents. Created by Severus Snape.

Vulnera senentur: Reverses the effects of sectum sempra. Also created by Severus Snape.

Imperio: Forces targeted living being to bid your will.

Crucio: Creates unbearable pain, so that one might wish for death.

Avada Kedavra: The killing curse. One must truly have ill intentions for this to work properly, not just vengeance and heartbreak.

REGULAR SPELLS

Finite incantatem: Forces any lingering spells to end.

Sonorus: Projects voice as if speaking into a microphone.

Quietus: Stops Sonorus.

Morsmodre: Creates the Dark Mark in the sky, usually sent up right after a murder by Death Eaters.

Lumos [Maxima/Ultima] : Creates light at the tip of your wand, like a flashlight. Maxima makes it way brighter, and Ultima lets the light become a source off of the wand.

Nox: Ends Lumos.

Stupefy: Sends target flying backwards.

Expelliarmus: Typically sends the opponent's wand flying away (if you control it properly, you can have the wand come to you).

Priori Incantato: Reveals most previous incantation used by the wand.

Deletrius: Ends Priori Incantato.

Engorgio: Forces targeted item to become larger.

Reducto/ diminuendo: Causes target to diminish in size, and can be used to reverse the effects of Engorgio.

Immobulus: Stops target from moving.

Alohomora: Opens most locked doors.

Colloportus: Can be used to lock doors.

Wingardium Leviosa: Makes targeted item float.

Locomotor mortis: Locks targets' legs together.

Petrificus Totalus: Known as the full body bind. Forces legs and arms to the body and immobilizes.

Incendio: Shoots small flames out of wand.

Expecto Patronum: Known as the patronus charm, the incantation roughly translates into "I await a guardian." A Patronus takes the form of the caster's spirit animal, and will protect you against dementors as long as you are focused on a happy memory.

Reparo: Fixes most broken items.

Accio: Used to summon items to the caster.

Avis: Creates small birds.

Diffindo: Creates a large slash in the targeted item.

Obliviate: Used to wipe one's mind of memories. Can permanently cause one unfixable brain damage.

Aparecium: Shows invisible ink.

Aresto Momentum: Lightens a target's fall. Can be used to stop one's fall if used properly.

Serpensortia: Shoots a snake from the tip of one's wand.

Rictusempra: Tickling charm.

Tarantallegra: Forces the lower half of one's body to dance.

Densaugeo: Forces teeth to have a nearly uncontrollable growth spurt. Usually just the two front top ones.

Orchideous: Forces flowers to burst from the tip of the wand.

Furnunculus: Sprouts boils and fungus-like product in targeted area.

Aguamenti: Produces a fountain of water from wand's tip.

Anapneo: Clears the target's airway.

Aqua eructo: Produces a continuous stream of water.

Arania exumai: Kills spiders.

Ascendio: Used to propel ones self upwards in a body of water.

Avifors: Turns target into a bird.

Bombarda [Maxima] : Used to make things explode.

Confundo: Confuses target.

Episkey: Repairs small bones and cartilage.

Everte statum: Throws victim backwards.

Expulso: Another spell to make things explode.

Homenium revelio: Reveals nearby human presence.

Impervius: Makes item repel water.

Lacarnum inflamare: Creates fire, but the fire starts off as a controllable sphere.

Langlock: Glues tongue to top of mouth. Created by Severus Snape.

Legimens: Used to read someone else's thoughts. The art of this spell is Legimency. The practice against Legimency is called Occlumency.

Piertotum locomotor: Forces statues to do your bidding.

Portus: Makes any item turn into a portkey.

Protego [horribilis/ totalum/ maxima] : Used to protect oneself against magic. The stronger the incantation, the darker the magic can be and still be protected against.

Rennervate: Wakes a stunned or fainted person.

Riddikulus: Used against boggarts. Turns your worst fear into something you can laugh at.

Salvio Hexia: Repels hexes.

Meteolojinx recanto: Stops weather problems/ jinxes.

Geminio: Duplicates an item.

Relashio: Frees a victim from chains/ locked item.

Muffliato: Muffles the sound around you so no one can hear what you're saying.

Specialis revelio: Reveals any hidden special properties an item might have.

Expulso: Sends a wave of explosive energy towards target.

Flagrate: One of many spells that can help you burn things.

Scourgify: Cleans target thouroughly.
