Rude Awakening

WHen I awke the sun was high in the sky and it was very warm. If I had to guess, it was about 85 or so degrees out. I was still in my car and I was in what appeared to be a deep crevas.

I had to get out and climb up so I could get help.

I open the car door and it was amazingly easy for me to step out considering that I had just driven off a cliff and passed out the night before.

The first thing I noticed was a lot of traffic noise from the road above. I had never noticed that road to be so busy before.

I found it quite easy to climb out of the crevas. It was an 80% grade with very little hold onto. I don't remember myself ever being this strong, but now that I look at myself while climbing the steep hill, I noticed what some would consider a decent specimen of a man. I really don't remember having a body like this. I must have suffered quite the konk on the head.

When I finally emerged at the top of the hill I was shocked by what I saw.

A giant parking lot. There was always a paking lot, but this one was about ten times the size. To the right of me was a busy street where the lonely highway used to be. To my left was what looked like a big store. Something called Walwart. There were several smaller stores next to it. In the middle of the parking lot was something I recongnized.  The building looked different, but the sign on the side was familiar, 'Ellen's Restaraunt-Open 24 hours'.

I also couldn't help noticing that all the cars looked different. They looked bland. They almost all looked the same, but most were a lot smaller than what I was used to seeing. A couple of them didn't even have a back seat. Odd.

Also, I saw a few people walking around while holding some kind of a device to their ear.  A hearing aid of some type, but still odd.

I wasn't sure what was going on, but I was about to find out.
