They're Watching

That night I had a bit of trouble sleeping, as I could still not shake off that feeling of being watched. I got out of bed and looked out my apartment window. My window faced the back, so I had a view of the back patio area as well of the wooded area beyond. I couldn't help but to feel that somone was watching me from the woods. It was the creepiest feeling. I shrugged it off, closed the curtains, and went back to bed.

The following day, we went back into Forest Hill. It was a cooler day. We had to wear sweaters. It was eight degrees according to the hockey puck.

We got out of the car to walk around a bit. I really didn't take long for me to start integrating with this new society. I thought that with me being so good at everything, I would join some clubs. While Sam and The Professor went their own way, I checked out the community center.  Let's see: Swimming, Diving, Tennis, Floor Hockey, Freestyle Wrestling, Boxing, Music, Balloom Dancing, Modern Dancing...Knitting? Hmmmm....

I think I am good at all of those, so I think I will sign up for all of those. Except knitting of course, because that's a girly thing.

After registering at the community center, I left to look for Sam and The Professor, and the moment I stepped out of the community center, I began to get that odd feeling again. This time i could also hear a faint sound. I couldn't really tell what it was, but I knew it was not a 'normal' sound.

It didn't take long to find the two. they were accross the street having a coffee.

I joined them and I thought about telling about the odd feeling I was having, but I decided that I wouldn't just yet.

After we finished our coffees, we headed back to the facaulty. We spent most of the day in the city and by the time we returned it was dinner time. I went right to the cafeteria where the special was meatloaf with fries and steamed veggies. Chocolate pudding for dessert.

After dinner I headed back up to my apartment and decided to read a bit before bed. I sat on the sofa and pulled out "Catcher In the Rye". I began to read when I noticed that feeling again. I hadn't felt it since we returned to the facility, but there it was again. It was accompanied by the sound, but this time it was louder. The sound is now more recognizable. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner but a slightly higher pitch. Once every second there was a beep. It is closer and again seems to be coming from the wooded area behind the building.

This was starting to get beyond annoying, so I got up and pulled open the curtians, and there in the trees just beyond our patio, a flickering yellow light. In the middle of the woods? What the hell is it?

I stood there for a few minutes trying to figure out what was going on.  After about a minute of just staring at the odd light in the woods, the light stopped flickering and just went solid yellow. Then the light turned red. I also noticed at the same time that the sound also stopped. It startled me, so I closed the curtains. The sound started again. By this point I had had enough and called it a night.

Good night.
