Chapter Three:

Back at the "base", Feliciano was setting up some of the supplies they were able to gather--which wasn't much, considering that most of the doors on the second floor had been locked. And they had spent so long looking, too...

Ludwig and Kiku had devised a plan that if they couldn't find a key--the "unknown" key hadn't helped in this situation--or if any of the other groups hadn't found any other keys or equipment that could help them get to through the doors, they would just break down the doors, somehow. Feliciano found it funny. Surely there was a better way in getting into those rooms? They probably didn't even need the supplies or whatever was in those rooms. They were going to be getting out of this house and back to their own homes--and back to his pasta!--soon, so why look?

Well, there was Yao. He hadn't shown up yet. Feliciano figured he had just gone looking for some food and had gotten lost somewhere. He'd be likely to do the same. He was getting really hungry...especially since the last time he had any food was when he had cooked pasta for Gilbert, Ludwig, and himself back before they left with Arthur to go to the haunted house. So, it had to at least have been twelve hours since he had a full meal. And the small packages of food Kiku had brought hadn't quenched his hunger much...

Not long after Feliciano and his group had made it back to "base", Arthur's group opened the door to the first floor hallway and walked into the living-room, a few items in their hands. Arthur, who seemed to be holding most of the items, laid the few on the table next to the supplies Feliciano's group had collected. Matthew and Alfred placed down a thing or two with it.

"We were able to collect a few keys from some dressers that were left open in most of the rooms. There was one room that wouldn't open, but I figured it would suffice if we just ignored it for now. And there was...a secret room hidden behind a large wardrobe Alfred moved. It looked like a special key could fit in the keyhole, but I wasn't too sure. And I'm not certain of where it will lead either." Ludwig nodded, taking in the items Arthur, Alfred, and Matthew had laid out. Three keys--a red one and two light colored small keys, probably from a set. Also, a small lighter. Alfred had found a few clothes he thought some of the nations could wear, if the city lights didn't show for a few days--which he continued to say wouldn't happen, and that the city lights should start showing soon, but the others ignored his protests. Matthew had found a kitchen area and a freezer full of food--whether they were still good or not, he wasn't sure. He had brought back some fruit and slices of ham. They'd have to cook the ham in the fireplace, though.

"When I checked out the kitchen, I noticed the oven--which was old-fashioned--had been burnt severely and wasn't able to be used. I'm sorry, guys..." Matthew whispered, hiding his face in his large coat. Arthur patted his back comfortingly.

"No worries mate. I'm sure we can try to cook the food in the fireplace just fine," he turned towards Ludwig, "What did your group find?" Feliciano pushed over the few items they had collected.

"Some sheets and blankets for if ve have to stay zhe night again. Zhe beds upstairs had close to no pillows, unfortunately, except for one. Zhere vere only two, however. So ve grabbed zhem," Ludwig then picked up a small black key with a weird symbol on it, "And zhis goes to a little bathing area upstairs. But, zhat vas all ve could find." Arthur nodded, taking in the new items. He let out a small sigh.

"Well, at least we were able to find something. Also, I wonder if that key you found in the beginning has anything to do with that secret room. I wanted to go find out once everyone gets back from their search."

"Wanted to find out what?" Every turned towards the staircase as Ivan and Francis made their way down. Ivan seemed about in happy as a mood as ever, but Francis frowned with an unreadable expression. Either way, he didn't appear too happy. Arthur chuckled.
