Chapter 16 || Negotiations

"you scared Steve?" i challenge and smirk as we circle eachother in the training room. i don't let him talk as i jump and twist, landing my legs on both sides of his head. i launch my body towards the ground and the force brings him down and i pin him down with my legs.

He smacks the mat and I release him as he catches his breath. "You're okay?" He breathes.

"Yeah." I nod happily. "I told you, I'm fully healed. We can put our plan into action now."

He stands and nods. "Keep training. We will go after him in 3 days. Get yourself up to speed."

I nod back and grab some weights.

I'm standing in my room in front of the body mirror strapped up for the upcoming mission. I hear a knock on the door.

"Covard sent a message. You okay?" I hear Bucky stand in the doorway, watching me stare at myself.

I hang my mouth for a bit before I respond. "Um yeah. What was the message?"

He enters the room and shows me a picture on his phone. It said, 'Let's meet where this all started.'

Bucky assumes I finished reading and says, "The warehouse."

I nod and leave the room as he follows me.

"We're paired up. How its going to work is that we'll be outside the warehouse as Steve goes in. He's going to have a microphone and you can translate what Covard says to Steve."

We enter the elevator and I think through the plan. Though I didn't need to because Steve was the captain for a reason. "Okay." I nod and we meet Steve and Nat in the black van.

"Did Bucky explain the plan?" Nat asks and I nod.

Steve starts explaining anyway. "(y/n) and Bucky stay in the van with the comms and (y/n), you convert what he says to me, so that we can have a conversation. Natasha will be outside the warehouse with soundproof earplugs for backup. No doubt Covard will bring collateral with him in case we try anything."

"Do we know what he wants?" I ask.

Steve sighs while focusing on the road. "No. No we don't. But its us. We've got eachother's backs."

We all quietly nod in agreement. We reach the warehouse and Steve drives behind the warehouse into the woods. He turns off the car and Bucky and I move to the back of the van where there was space.

I watch as Steve puts in his soundproof comms as Nat clips on a small microphone onto the belt of his suit. After she helps him she puts in her own soundproof earbuds. She hands me a pair of headphones with a microphone and I test it, making sure Steve and Nat could hear me.

We're ready and Steve looks at us, giving us a thumbs up, and seeing if everyone was ready. We all give him a thumbs up and Steve and Nat get into their positions.

The place is so quiet that I heard Steve's footsteps.

"Do you see anything?" I ask.

"God. He brought the whole train station here. They're pointing guns at eachother, their guns are cocked."

"The great captain America!"

I tense as I heard Covard's voice echo through the warehouse, even through the microphone.

"He said introduced you to himself." I say to Steve.

"What do you want Covard?" Steve asks intimidatingly.

"Where's (y/n)?" He questions.

I repeat the question to Steve.

"What do you want Covard?" He says again, slowly.
