chapter 1- Madness

      Darkness has fallen over the city, people crowd the streets while others are heading home. In fact half of the population is hiding away in their homes. You sigh and take a seat in the last booth next to a window. You're meeting your two best friends to hang out and spend a night at one of their houses. Your (e/c) eyes lock onto both of them, Lilly and Holly.

      You sit next to Holly while Lilly is seated across from you, her hands wrapped around a milkshake.

     Holly is rather tall with a skinny frame. Her blue locks is pulled back in a high pony tail. A white crop top, a black miniskirt, white stockings, and combat boots hug her frame. The moment she sees you, happiness flickers in her aqua blue eyes.

     Lilly is a bit shorter than you with a average frame. Her dyed blueish-greenish straighten locks reach her shoulders while her purple eyes lit up. A light purple tank top, black shorts, stripped black and white leggings long with combat boots hug her pettie frame.

    "Have you heard the news?" Holly asks, turning her head in your direction.
     "No, why do you ask?" You ask, shrugging your shoulders. Lilly looks up at you both, her teeth sinking into the straw between her lips.
      "Outbreaks of some new sickness is happening everywhere in the city. The doctors can't figure it out or why it's happening," Holly replies.

      "That's really weird," you mumble while glancing at your phone. You smile as you automatically spot a message from your boyfriend. Your (e/c) eyes quickly scan the words. You can't help, but grin like a mad person.

     Sam: I can't wait to see you,again, (Y/n). I'll be flying over to Japan to see you in about a week or two. Love you, doll

      Suddenly, the lights start to flicker on and off. The music over the intercom abundantly cuts off. You all look up at the lights, confusion settling in your bones. Then, the lights flicker back on and everything goes back to being normal.

     "What was that?" You ask, slipping your phone into your jean pocket.
      "Probably, some idiot who hit a lightpole," Holly states while standing up. Lilly does too and tosses her milkshake cup into a trashcan nearby. It hits the brick wall, landing in the bag with a loud thump sound. Then, she glances at her watch, her eyes going wide.

      "Let's head home. It's getting late," you fish out twenty dollars from your jean pocket and place it on the tabletop. You quickly catch up to your best friends and step into the darkness.

      You all head down a street leading to Lilly's apartment complex. You glance around, immediately noticing the streets are empty. Probably because, people have been getting sick and school was dismissed for a month or two. You look at Lilly's and Holly's face. Sadness flickers in each of their eyes while they state at the ground with a blank expression engraved in their facial features.

      You force yourself to smile while throwing your arms around each of their shoulders. You pull them closer to you, slightly hugging them.
      "Hey, guys,"---Both girls snap their attention to you.
      "Have you heard about that new fair coming in town?" You ask. Lilly grins at you like a crazy lady.

     "We should all go this werkend!" she exclaims. You sliglty frown.
     "I probably will if my boyfriend is willing to come. He's leaving New York City and going to come here to spend time with me. He's going off to college soon and he wants to hang out with me as much as he can," you reply while all of you start to pass by an alleyway.

      Suddenly, a scream breaks the silence. Fear automatically pumps into your heart. You all stop walking, your bones turning into jelly. You hesitantly look into darkness. Something wet splashes across the brick wall above a dumpster. You let go of your friends, your arms landing next to your sides.
