Day by Day

Part 3

Day and Greyson have been together for three years, when Greysen decided it was finally time to pop the big question. He decided he should definitely talk to Mr. Cole first.

"Hey Mr. Cole.." Greysen greeted, obviously nervous. "Hey Greysen! Come in." Cole said opening the door and walking to the living room, signaling for Greysen to come in and sit. "So, what's up? Cole said sitting down on the couch. "Day isn't here is she?" Greysen asked. He wanted everything to be a surprise for her. "No, she took Serenity to the mall. Why?" Cole asked. "Because... I wanted to know.. Ificouldaskhertomarryme..." Greysen said quickly and shut his eyes, scared of what Cole is going to say. "You want to marry Day?" Cole asked quietly. "Yes Sir.." Greysen answered opening his eyes. Cole placed his hand on Greysens shoulder and said "I would love it, if you asked my daughter to marry you." The two stood up and hugged for a second. "How are you gonna ask her?" Cole says pulling away from the hug. "I'm gonna take her on her dream date. I talked to Iyisha about it and she told me everything." Greysen answered. "She's going to love it." Cole said placing his hand on Greysens shoulder "Do you think she's gonna say yes?" Greysen asked picking his keys up off the coffee table. "I know she's gonna say yes. She loves you so much dude." Cole said giving Greysen a bro hug like he was at a bachelor party.. "Thank you again, Mr. Cole." Greysen said as he walked out the door. "No problem Greysen, go get her!" Cole said before he closed the door.

The day had finally come. The day where Greysen was going to ask Day to marry him. He had everything planned out. Day never told Greysen her dream date, but she DID tell Iyisha. So Greysen talked to her and got all the details. He talked to Day, a week before, telling her to not make any plans Saturday, and that he was going to have her the whole day. She of course loved it and agreed. It was late December so Greysen had the engagement ring in the inside pocket of his jacket. As he pulled up to Day's driveway, he got out a package that he ordered for Day and placed in on the passenger seat. It was 9:00 am so instead of knocking on the door he called Day, so he wouldn't wake up Serenity or Cole. "Hey Grey, you here?" Day said, answering the phone. "Yup! I'm at the front door." Greysen answered. "Okay, let me grab my purse and I'll be right out." Day said, before she hung up the phone.

"So, what are we doing today?" Day asked turning to face Greysen who was driving. "I'm not gonna tell you." Greysen said taking a quick glance at his beautiful, soon to be, fiance. "Fine.. you look nice today Grey." Day said putting her hand on his arm. "Thank you, you look stunning." Greysen replied. The two went on talking about various things until they pulled up to a cute little, hole in the wall, coffee shop.

"What are we doing here? You don't even like coffee." Day asked, very confused, as the two got out of the car. "Yeah, I know that. BUT you do, and I saw this place on instagram so i wanted to come check it out." Greysen said, opening the door for Day. "Cute right?" He asked as the two walked in. "Oh my goodness! This is so cute!" Day said looking around. The place was really worth the hour drive. They had a wall that was all just bookshelves FULL of books. They had a little place you could take aesthetic pictures at. They even had cute little vases filled with pretty flowers on the tables. This place is exactly what Day was looking for. As the two were sitting, Day was drinking her caramel frap and Greysen was drinking a honey tea, Day realized what Greysen was doing. "Grey...are you taking me on my dream date?" Day asked placing her hand on top of his. "I have no idea what you're talking about.." Greysen said smirking as he lifted his drink up to his mouth and taking a sip.

Greysen pulled out his phone and started recording Day taking a drink from her cup while she read a book. "Hey!" Day said when she saw what Greysen was doing and put her hand in front of the camera. "Hey, if I'm taking you on your dream date, then why don't we take a few videos and pictures?" Greysen replied, putting the phone down for a second. "Ohhhhhh, so you are taking me on my dream date." Day said giving Greysen the biggest smile ever. "......YES! I am!" Greysen said giggling and grabbing Days hand. "You're amazing Grey." Day said leaning over the table and giving Greysen a quick kiss.

"Ready to go?" Greysen asked as Day took a final sip of her drink. "After we take a picture!" Day said grabbing Greysen's hand leading him to the picture wall. "Could you please take our picture?" Greysen asked a worker, handing her his phone. "Yeah, of course!" She replied taking his phone and started taking a few pictures. "Thank you so much!" Day said grabbing Greysens phone to look at the pictures. "No problem!" The worker said before she went back to work. "Ready to go?" Greysen said putting his hand on Day's back. "Absolutely!" Day said as she started walking towards the door. "LETS GO!!" Greysen yelled as he ran out the door and to his truck. Day started laughing and ran after him. "Today is gonna be awesome." Day thought to herself.

Throughout the day Greysen took Day to different places Day had never been but wanted to. He took her to Haunted places in St Augustine, 2-Apollo 1 Launch Complex 34 and 5-Interstate 4 "Dead Zone". All some of Florida's most haunted locations, because Day is obsessed with learning about paranormal stuff. At the end of the day when it started getting dark, Greysen decided it was finally time. "Ready for our last stop of the day?" Greysen asked taking a quick glance at Day, wanting to keep his eyes on the road. "Yes I am." Day said quietly. "Today has been absolutely amazing, Grey." Day finished as she laid her head against the window. "It really has been." Greysen said putting his hand on top of Days.

It had been about two hours when Greysen and Day finally arrived to Daytona Beach. Day's favorite beach ever. Day was asleep so Greysen found it to be the perfect time to get everything ready. He pulled up to the beach and parked the car so that the bed of the truck was facing the water. He grabbed the huge bag from the back seats, opened it up, took all the blankets and pillows out, and laid them perfectly inside the bed of the truck. Everything was perfect. No clouds in the sky, stars were beautiful, moon was bright, the ring was still in Greysen's pocket. "It's time." Greysen whispered to himself.

"Hey. Babe. Day."Greysen said trying to wake Day up. He shook shoulders a bit and she finally woke up. "You ready?" Greysen asked. Day looked around and said "For what? Where are we?" "Well, come out here and see." Greysen said as he turned to walk to the back of the truck. Day giggled and got up to go with Greysen. "Oh my goodness. Grey. Are we in Daytona?" Day said hugging him. "Yup, and look." Greysen said as he turned around and put down the tailgate to show Day all the blankets and pillows. "Oh my gosh, Grey." Day said hugging him tightly when he turned back around. "Thank you so much for this. I love you so much." Day said before she pulled away from the hug. "I love you too." Greysen said. "Wanna lay down?" He asked. "Yes!" Day said before jumping up into the bed of the truck and laying down. The two layed and talked for hours.

"When did you realize that you wanted to be with me?" Greysen asked as the two were looking up at the stars. "Want the truth?" Day asked. "Yes of course." Greysen said giggling a little. "Well, if i'm gonna be honest, the day we met." Day said. "I've never told you this but I guess today is the day. The day we met, I almost killed myself. I kept asking God for a sign. Something to distract me from my thoughts, something to keep me from doing what I was about to do." Greysen sat up and looked at Day with tears in his eyes. Day sat up and put her arms around Greysens waist and continued. "As soon as I was fixing to.. Do it, I got a phone call. It was a teller marketer but it stopped me. As soon as I hung up, I went and laid down on my bed, then you knocked on the door." Greysen put his arms around Day and hugged her tight. "That's when I knew you were the one, Because if God didn't stop me, I wouldn't have met the love of my life and he wouldn't have changed my life, and I wouldn't be as close to God as I am now." Day said pulling away from the hug and placing her hands on the sides on Greysens face. "Day, I love you so so so much." Greysen said, pulling Day in for another hug. "I love you too, Grey." Day said pulling away from the hug. "What about you?" Day asked. "The day we met." Greysen said laughing. "You saved me from my dad. You could have shut the door in my face when I asked if I could stay, but you didn't." Greysen said as he scooted out of the truck. "You are amazing, beautiful, sweet, loving," Greysen started saying. Day scooted out to stand in the sand with him. "God-loving, fearless, the list goes on and on BUT most of all... Day Ambria Hernandez, you are the love of my life." Greysen said grabbing Day's hand. "Day, besides God, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. That goes for everything that comes with you. Your dad, sister, cousin, cat, dog, everything. And I'm asking you, right now. If you will make me the happiest and blessed man in the world.." Greysen said as he got on one knee. Day covered her mouth with one hand and started crying. ".. Day, will you marry me?" Greysen asked as he pulled out Day's dream engagement ring from his pocket. "Greysen, you make me the happiest girl in the world. I love you so much, of course." She managed to say while crying her eyes out. Greysen, face wet from crying, puts the ring on Days finger, stood up and hugged the love of his life. The rest of the night the two played in the water for a little bit and started their way back home.
