I walked quickly towards the building entrance. I was going to do something important today but my manager just called. He says he wants to meet me with the management for a meeting.

I would've declined but a meeting with the management is some serious business and that I really needed to go.

I entered the building and a lot of familiar faces greeted me. I was on rush but that didn't stop me from smiling to some and even saying hi.

Ro, the receptionist, greeted me, too. "Good Morning, Luke. I see you brought yourself here besides the fact of today's special event."

Ro was one of my very close pal here. We became very close because when I was just starting up, she was the very first who entertained me in this big building.

"Well, Wally says this is important. I guess I need to really go." I smiled at her.

"Well, they're expecting you in Room 316. I hope they won't be harsh to you." Ro says.

"Thank you," I say nervously as I wave goodbye.

Just pray for me this won't go wrong.

I pushed the button of the elevator and waited patiently until I heard a cling. I stepped inside tapping my shoe gently against the marble floor.

Thoughts ran through my head of what can happen next. I didn't know what to expect. is this going to affect my career? My personal life? I wish not.

The elevator stopped at the third floor of the build g and I went down taking a good look at my surrounding. I've been ere before. A little less than a week now. Wally talked to me for some great news about a concert I will be a part of.

I'm just a uprising star--am I even a star yet?--who originated from youtube. I posted covers of numerous songs and people seem to like it. Then one day, I found an email from the company saying if I wanted to be their new singer and here I am now.

At first, I thought it was surreal. I never intended to be a recording artist. I just wanted to share my music and I was given this. I'm so thankful Wally found me across the millions of artist on youtube and I would do anything to keep this job.

Room 316.

I reached it. I took a deep breath imagining that everything will be fine and nothing in my plan will change. I hope.

I turned the knob slowly and opened the door. Wally stood there arguing with the man sitting on the chair in front. He must be the President. I've never seen him before.

When Wally saw me the arguing stopped instead he gave me a nervous smile. I smiled back sitting on a chair across them.

The President, I assumed, was staring at me like I was a puzzle he cannot solve. I sat silently while all of this happened. I just want this to be over with.

After I a minute of silence, I cleared my throat wanting the two of the to talk.

"So, uhm, Sir, why did you want to talk to me?" I ask the man sitting across from me.

His weird face changed an instead whispered something to Wally.

"Is this gonna affect my personal life?" I asked, annoyed.

Wally's facial expression changed.

"It is, isn't it?" I say clearly pissed. I've been waiting for minutes now.

"Can we please just get this over with? You know I have something special for tonight, Wally." He sat down beside the man and tried to smile.

"You see, Luke, what I'm about to say is going to have a big effect on your special thing tonight." He says.

I could feel my fist clench. I think I know where this is going. But I still hope I'm wrong.

"Ashton Irwin, your competitor is gaining lots of fans by the minute."

Ashton Irwin was the talent of another recording company. He's a great singer and I heard he can play drums, guitar and bass. Besides that fact, my management has been trying to beat him. To them, this is a competition. But for me, it was sharing my music. I told them for a lot of times I'm not here for fame. I want my music to be heard. Nothing more, nothing less.

"And we thought, you can beat him by staying single. Because he's going to make public his relationship soon and some fans might transfer fandom because of that and there you are to catch them." The President finally spoke.

I could almost feel my fist bleeding from too much clenching. I was way beyond furious that I wanted to scream

"Why?" I shouted losing my temper. "If this is all money to you, to me it isn't! I'm not here for the stupid goddamn money okay?! I wanted to share my music and you were there. What the fuck is wrong with you? You can't fucking control me."

The president remained silent. But he suddenly stood up and walked around the room looking everywhere but me.

"Let's get this straight shall we?" He spoke whilst towering over my sitting frame. If I'm standing up, I bet he's way smaller than me.

"I know what you are planning tonight. You're going to ask some girl to be your girl. But come to think of it, some of your fans might not accept her. They may send her hate, death threats, and so much more. Don't you think that's going to affect your relationship? She might even get depressed and leave you or even worse, she might leave you forever. Think about that. What would happen to her if you pushed through this antics. We're not only protecting your career. We're also considering your soon-to-be-girlfriend."

I thought for a moment. Yes, what he says is true but can't I just protect her or something? But then again, that would still hurt her and I don't want that. She's the most important person in my life and I can't risk losing her. If ever I get into a relationship with her I want it to be stable and everything.

I eyed the boss up and down before finally taking out my phone.

"Calum," I sighed. "Cancel all the plans. I'm gonna explain later."

The boss smirked whilst I looked down.
