Diamond POV
Its been an entire year since I left for college. The worst part is that Jacob and I haven't talked and he doesn't know that we have a daughter. I didn't tell Jacob that I was pregnant, it would have made things worst. I was able to go to college though but it hasn't been easy since I have Aaliyah. I had to move out my mom house because it was getting to crowed and I didn't want my mom stressing. I got an apartment close to the school but I really do miss home. While getting Aaliyah dressed, someone began to knock on the door. I picked her up and walked to the door. When I opened it, I saw the person that I didn't want to see.
"Jacob, what are you doing here?" "Um, my mom said I should come and visit you and I know that you haven't told me something in a year, that probably explains why you have a baby on your hip." "Guess she told you, huh?" "Yeah, she did." "Well, come in, you're letting out the heat."He came in and he is still the finest white boy I've seen yet. I put Aaliyah in her crib and sat on the couch. He took off his jacket and sat next to me. "So, when were you planning on telling me I was a father?" "I don't know. I thought you wouldn't care." "Diamond, really? I wouldn't care? You had my first child and I wouldn't care? I care about you Diamond....still and now, that we have a child, I'm going to be here for both of you."
Tears came running down my face but I knew he meant it, he would never lie to me. I mean I love this boy and now he going to be here for Aaliyah which makes things way easier.
He pulled into a hug and kissed me, its been so long I forgot how it felt. "Diamond, I promise I am never leaving your side again." "You promise?" "I promise." He got up and went to Aaliyah's crib and picked her up. She automatically went to sleep once he got use to holding her. "See, she just needed to be with her daddy, that's it." "Sure but you wouldn't mind taking care of her for an hour or so, because I have a really big test tomorrow and I want to study." "Go ahead, get your study on, I'll watch her." I kissed his check and went to my room and went to study.
An hour later,
I walked out the room to check up on them and they were both sound asleep. I grabbed Aaliyah softly and put her in her crib. I turned around saw Jacob looking around for her and it was kind of cute seeing him like this. "Jacob," I said quietly so Aaliyah wouldn't wake up. He turned around and he walked to me. I opened the door so he could see she was in her bed, sleep. "Oh, I thought something happened. " "Well, nothing happened." "Okay, I'm going back to sleep." "Alright and thanks again." "Well, its not like I wouldn't do it."
Jacob's POV
I'm a father! Wow, the best things that happen comes in weird ways. I mean I always wanted to have a child but just never thought it would be with my best friend. She went into the kitchen and began to make some coffee. "So, what are you doing in New York anyway?" "Well, I knew you were going to NYU so I just thought to come surprise you." "Well, I think it went the other way around." "Yeah, so, where did you get Aaliyah from?" "Well, I just thought it was a unique name unlike mine. But don't worry she has your last name." "Good, but what are you up so early?" "Well, I have to get ready for work then I have to take Aaliyah to daycare then its off to school." "Well, no more daycare cause I'm here but I need to get a job down here, huh?" "Yeah but you should get some sleep." "I will but have to wait until you go to work safety." "Aww, I missed that." She came out the kitchen and gave me a kiss. I missed her kisses, her touch against mine. "Well, I got to go, okay?" "Yeah, I'll see you later." "Uh huh, you'll be sleep before I even walk in the door." "No I won't, just go before you be late." "Okay, okay, I'm going." She gave me a kiss on the cheek and left out the door. After she left, Aaliyah began to cry. I walked to her room and she was screaming and throwing a tantrum. I picked her up and to see what was wrong with her.
