Brendon smiles, all appreciative and warm like I'm the only one there who gets him. Well, I don't, but we outsiders stick together.

He'd laugh at my stupid jokes, tell me how he thinks I'm alright. It feels like the biggest compliment I've gotten all year. And he'd be there not because of the hype or my fame, but because he wants to be, even if he knows I'm all talk and nothing else. Even if he's seen my hands shaking before going on stage. He wouldn't mind.
