*ground rumbling* *Diesel engines roaring* *Rubber burning*

"Kids get down into the basement now!" Scarlett's mom yelled from the front passageway.

A vibrant orange flash and a loud bang filled the room.

The room was quiet as Scarlett fell to the floor.

Footsteps shook the house as Rifters entered, guns blazing.

Screaming, Scarlett was dragged down to the basement by her father and the door shut with a slam.

“Dad i’m scared!” scarlett let out a small cry.

“Everything will be okay, they cant get us down here.” her father replied softly.

“What about mom and brother?”

“They will be just fine” He said.

He handed her an old stuffed animal

“It was mine when i was your age, he’ll keep you safe from all danger” He said

She hugged the animal tighter and didn’t let go

Lights started to shine through the doors gaps and cracks

“Scarlett over to the window now” her father whispered out.

“Why?”

“When i tell you, you climb out the window and run without turning around”

“What about you? You cant stay here.”

“Ill be right behind you, i promise”

He only starts to get the window open before.

3 loud bangs, BANG BANG BANG

He finishes to open the window

“Go now ill distract them so you can go, run towards the train station and head south towards The Old Monument, and don’t stop till you find an old cabin, knock on the door and tell them I sent you, and your looking for Shadow.”

“Wait but why?”

“Just go, now”

Crack, SLAM

The big metal door to the basement broke open with astonishing force.

“Come get me you ugly b*stards”

A bright blue-green fire arose from under his feet.

“By the power of tomorrows bright sun, give me Satan”

Her father fought the rifters as she barely squeezed out of the window

“DAD!” She screamed

“Go, run now” he yelled back, taking down one of the rifters before being stabbed by the group leader.

“No! Dad” She screamed again

Tripping as she started to run from flying bullets being shot at her.

“There, Her, Take her and bring her to the boss” one of them said

Me why do they want me? I am just a girl with no family.

Coming to her senses she realised they were running after her, slowly getting up she ran in the direction to the railroad that her dad told her to go to.

Brother, Mother, Father, all…..all are gone.

Tears broke down her face as she struggled to hide in the brush from the rifters

After they passed she ran to an old tree house her grandfather built her before he passed away 2 years ago.

“The ladder is old but i’m small”

She climbed the ladder and found an old light from the last time she was in there, lighting up the small room she sat in a corner and shut her eyes tight.

“Mom…..Dad…...Brother…...Why? Why did you leave me like this?”

“Little girl, they didn’t leave you like that, you are you, not them, they chose to save you and keep you alive instead of themselves.” Strong male accent came form nowhere.

“Wha…..Who’s there? I’m not scared of you!”

“Well of course your not. Scarlett there is no need to fear, i am Shadow, a friend of your fathers”

“Really?!” She asked.

“The one and only”

“Okay” she started to climb down the ladder falling off the last step.

“Woah, you okay?” Shadow asked politely.

“Yeah, I think, Yeah” Scarlett replied. “My dad told me about you, your like some illusion guy right?!”

“Wizard. I am a wizard of the seventh sun, And I am the president of the Wizard hall”

“Is that where you live?” She asked Shadow.

“Kind of, Its where all wizards and spell casters live, and grow, like a school, but not.” Shadow replied.

“Cool, Where is this school?!” She asked again.

“Well let me take you there and you can meet some of the higher wizards and then maybe we can see if you can get into a class!” Shadow said

“Wait, i can be a wizard too.” Scarlett asked.

“Yes you can, you can become the very thing your father was and maybe become even stronger.” Shadow sounded bold.

“Really!??” Scarlett said

“Yes, now lets get you to your new home.”

Scarlett and Shadow left without a trace and she was never seen by anyone other than shadow till present day.
