payton watches for hallway light to be turned off and chase and anthony's doors to be shut before slipping a hoodie on and crawling out the window. luckily he got the room on the first floor, so he wasn't jumping multiple stories to a near death. he shoves his hands in his pocket and begins walking to the restaurant.
right after her message with payton, mckinley throws on a jacket and sweatpants before running out the door.
"i'm gonna go get something to eat. i'll be back." she says to her half asleep best friend. there's no response, obviously, so she puts a blanket over her friend on the couch and runs out the door.
"hey." mckinley greets.
"h-hi." payton stands up to meet with the girl.
"what'd you need to talk about?" she asks.
"chase. and anthony." he replies.
"oh." she says, sitting across the boy.
"they're head over heels for you. and i get that you like them both. they're great guys. but please, for the sake of keeping their friendship safe, don't choose. no matter what." he pleads.
"yeah of course. goodnight payton." she stands up and rushes out of the building.
