Darkness Falls Alastor X Reader

A Close Call

Warmth.

Happiness.

Love.

You felt it all in Alastor's arms as he held you close. As you slept together peacefully.

But that peace didn't last long. At least not for you. Y/Nb was already cooking up a juicy nightmare for you. Their cackle echoed throughout the entirety of the room. Alastor's eyes practically shot open and glanced around the room. His eyes narrowed as he turned his attention to you.

The corners of Alastor's ever present smile twitched when he saw how fluffed up you were. Your flames were looking irritated. A sign you were getting dangerously close to a take over. As worry clenched his stomach, Alastor thought quickly. He then hugged you to him, holding you tight and close, whispering in your ear.

"Fight them darling...don't give up. You are stronger than they ever will be. I know you can do it..I'll always be right beside you my dear..."

A whine escaped you, breaking Alastor's nonexistent heart. He wiped away the tears that trickled down your snout and rubbed your back, no matter how much your flames burned him.

Y/Nb's voice chuckled darkly, taunting the radio demon. He glared as he heard their voice echo, as if they wanted him to experience you falling into darkness.

"You can't escape me Y/N. We are two halves of the same person~ except you are much weaker!"

Alastor growled at that. He planted a kiss on your forehead "They couldn't be more wrong my dear. You are strong. Look at what you've done. No ordinary demon could win over my heart like you have...you're much more special than you know."

More tears fell. Y/Nb snarled, angry with their hard work just being erased over. They decided to pull out the big guns, knowing exactly where to aim.

"Love is pointless. It's a lie. That's all the radio demon knows how to do. He's lying to you Y/n. Doesn't that just hurt~ don't you want to get away~ come now...let me take over.."

Alastor rolled his eyes at that. That stupid trick again? They've already been over this. Alastor loved and cared for you. You both knew that. Y/Nb was getting desperate now...and that made Alastor grin. He rested his forehead against yours.

"You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are grey."

At the sound of the song...you relaxed. Your breathing slowed, your flames started to die down and flicker calmly, and most importantly a smile came to your face.

"WHAT?! NO!! NONONO!! SHUT UP YOU TALK SHOW WANNA BE!! YOU STRAWBERRY ASSHAT!! YOU-YOU!!"

Alastor ignored all the vulgarities Y/Nb screamed at him. He only wanted to focus on you. On making you happy.

"You'll never know dear
How much I love you..."

You muttered in your sleep, nuzzling against Alastor's chest.

"Please don't take..."

"My sunshine awaaaay..." Alastor finished the last lyric with a loving smile. He watched you completely relax against him. Then he glanced around the room. His smile turned to one of satisfaction and relief. Y/Nb had fallen silent and dormant once again. But still...Alastor was worried. That was the closest you got to a takeover in a long time...who knew how long it would be until Y/Nb won..

Alastor sighed. He couldn't think like that. He just couldn't. He had to make sure he was there for you when you needed him most.

The radio demon suddenly jolted out of his thoughts when he felt your arms tightened around his waist. He looked down at you, catching your muttered sleepy words.

"Luv you Al..."

Those three words brought the biggest grin to the deer demon's face. He hugged you just as tight, kissing your forehead.

"I love you too my darling...oh so very much."

Haaaaaaa hi. So...I lied this isn't the last chapter and I apologize for it being short. I kinda suck at writing and I'm trying so hard to get my confidence back up.
