Ongoing Flashback

Kiefer's POV

I heard her move. Damn. That was my cue. I said goodbye to Thirdy in a hurry because I was scared she heard that. We barely knew each other and here I was confessing to my brother that I was in love with her. What a move. Damn it. 

I just hummed mindlessly with the song that's been stuck on my head for days. I always looked back at her and after 5 times, I saw her..wide awake.

"Uy, gising ka na pala. Haha malayo layo pa tayo tho." I opened. She looked away. "Kiefer..." she then said after a few dreading seconds "May maiihian ba na malapit?" She asked silently. I sighed in relief and let out a laugh. That was her cue to hit me.

"Huy, wag kang bully. Naiihi na talaga ako." 

"Naiihi ka kasi umuulan?"

"Huhu, seryoso ako" She said and she pouted. I smiled. "Ihi ka sa labas di naman halata" I joked. She hit me again. 

"Kiefer, seryoso ihing ihi na ako huhu wala bang malapit na gasolinahan?" She asked frantically. I was enjoying bullying her but I felt bad so I said "There's a Petron station about 3 mins away. Think you can hold it?" I asked. 

She whimpered and said "Uhuh" 

I laughed again and drove as fast as I can. "Huy wag mabilis, ayoko pa mamatay. Wag kang magbiyaheng langit" She shouted.

"Ay sorry boss. Kala ko ihing ihi ka na" She laughed and held her stomach. 

"Wag mo ko patawanin! Sige ka maiihi ako dito sa seat mo" she said jokingly.

 I started slowing down and parked at the gas station. It was still pouring hard so I signalled her to wait. I grabbed my umbrella and immediately opened her car seat gesturing her to hold my hand while I guide her through the zero visibility walkway to hell, I mean the bathroom. 

She didn't complain. I guess she really needed to pee and the sound of the rain alone made her want to go. I told her I'd wait outside the bathroom to ensure her safety. She just nodded and went inside like a mad man. 

I chuckled. She was beyond adorable. She was like a little girl, except well she was big. She was simple and charming and I am pathetically struck by her lightning.

She came out looking at me in a weird way. "Oh, anong iniismile ismile mo jan?" She asked me in a bossy kind of way "Siguro sinilipan mo ko no!" She added in a teasing tone.

"Uy hala hindi ah! G-gentleman ata ako!" I defended. "Ikaw porket nakaihi na ginaganyan mo na ako" I added and smiled.

"Siyempre! May powers na uli ako" She happily replied. "Nagugutom ka na ba?" She asked then pulled me to the convienience store that was right next to the bathroom. I hoped she wouldn't look back because I blushed.

Heavily.

But she did. And I simply looked away and said "Ang lakas pa ng ulan. Sige kain muna tayo. Mukhang ikaw talaga yung gutom eh." 

She spiked me at my arms "Owwwww! Grabe ang sakit nun ah" I acted. "Sus parang yun lang. Wag mo kong aasarin. Masarap kumain. At dahil jan, ililibre mo ako" She pouted. 

I guess she was getting more comfortable with me. Either that or she's just way too hungry to act like a little more mature so I went to the counter and paid for some pizza that was available and some soup. 

"Mmmm ang sarap naman tignan" She announced. 

"Uy bumili ka ng iyo!" I joked to her. She made a sad face. It looked so genuine that I eventually slid her share to her side. 

"Yehey! Madali ka pala mauto Ravena!" She exclaimed with a happy smile. I laughed and looked at her. Enjoying her food. Damn.

Mika's POV

I knew he was staring at me as we ate. I didn't want him to notice that. I wanted to give his affections some privacy. I didn't mean to hear what he said. 

I was glad though.

Somehow, I felt relieved that he likes me. He loves me. Maybe I could learn to love him too.

I like him. And if he wanted to, I'd give him a chance to take care of me, to love me. A part of me was fearful though. What if he what he has is just some petty crush and I'm just another trophy?

I wanted to put my guards up. But everytime, everytime he looks at me with those deep, sincere eyes. I'm lost and found in him. 

"Earth to Mika. Hello!" I heard him speak. I didn't realize I spaced out just as I was about to finish my drink.

"Uy sorry may inisip lang ako!" I told him. "Ahhhhhhhhhh. Iniisip mo na naman ako noh? Andito naman ako ah" He joked, or so I thought. So I gave him another smack in the arm but this time lighter. 

"Wag kang umasa. Iniisip ko lang pano ako makakauwi, nakakahiya naman kung ihahatid mo talaga ako all the way." I said quietly.

"Uy wala yun, besides delikado. I wouldn't let you commute all by yourself let alone wait for someone else to pick you up when I can just bring you home. Baka ikahiya ako ng mama ko nun" He said with a smile. My heart sank. He was a gentleman. By all means. And that just pulled me deeper into his area. 

I wished to go no further into this but he's beckoning me with his small gestures. The ones I always appreciated more. The little things that no one pays attention to anymore these days.

Why

"Sige. Thank you talaga ha Kiefer. Babawi talaga ako sayo." I told him as he threw his thrash. "Want anything for the ride?" He offered. "Um, wala na busog na ako nakakahiya naman" I said. 

He then threw me a cheetos bag. "Hati tayo. Baka magutom ka. Malayo layo pa tayo. Believe me" he said before I could protest. 

As we went outside the store, the rain was heavily pouring once more. He opened the umbrella and signaled me to come closer to him. He wrapped his arms around me as we started to make our way back to his car. 

The moment he put his arms around me. My skin, shook. It was as if electricity struck me and I wanted to collapse. I looked at him and he looked at me and told me "Uy, front seat ka na ah!" and then I realized he had opened the front seat of his car and I went in. He ran to the driver's seat and hurriedly put the umbrella at the back. 

"Nabasa ka?" He asked. "Hindi naman. Ikaw nga basa eh, ikaw kasi mas nilagay mo sa side ko eh maliit lang naman ako" I answered. 

"Eh siyempre lagot ako pag ikaw nagkasakit sa side ko" He said with a smile.

An hour into our ride, I fell asleep and when I woke up, I could see him shivering. 

"Uy, nilalamig ka? Naka 1 lang to A/C ah?" I asked. "Hhhhhindi ah hahaha" He said meekly.

"Ano ka ba, side ka muna jan, wala na akong makita oh." He pulled to the side and he started to shiver even more. 

I looked at the towel I used earlier. It was still damp. "Wala ka bang jacket dito?" I asked. "Mmmeron ata jan" He replied. "Sorry Mika," and he added. "Okay lang, quiet ka na lang muna. Rest ka" 

I could hear the chattering of his teeth as I pulled his bag. His jacket was a bit damp from the towels that he used from training. 

No choice...........

"Kiefer?" I asked. "yyyyes?" he replied meekly. "Could you transfer to the back? May energy ka pa ba?" He immediately obliged without a word. I guess he was too weak to argue and wanted to have some space as well. After he had moved to the back, I transferred to the back as well. 

I then hugged him. "Sorry. I know I'm invading your space but you need to be kept warm" 

He shivered and put his head on my shoulder.
