It has been four years since Willow and Garett had left their hometown. They haven't returned since they left. They had been occasionally visited by their familias.
Willow was now 22 and was proud English major, who had signed publishing contracts a few months ago for her books on women's rights and LGBT issues. She was promised that her works would be of great success. She wasn't so sure of believing it but Garett, who became a great fan of her writing was certain that his girl would become the next bestselling author.
Garett had been sober ever since his relationship with Willow became serious. He still worked as a sports instructor and loved his job.
Willow never thought of Víctor anymore. He was a thing of her past. She blocked on all social media y deleted his number, two years before. She just got fed up that her ex wouldn't give up on her. Luckily, she never told him where she was. Only some friends and family knew where Willow and Garett were and they asked everyone not to let Víctor know.
Willow and Garett where busy packing their stuff. Their flight was scheduled for the next day. They were leaving everything behind in the big city, where they always felt like fish out of water. They often talked about returning to their hometown, a small town by the seaside which filled with tourists during summer. Everyone there new each other there, which sometimes was a real inconvenience as that meant that rumour and gossip spread easily. I have Blue Bay, Willow often thought to herself while she was there. But, now she felt homesick and really wanted to take her surfboard and surf the waves while looking onto an 18th century small town. They were going to reach Miami Airport the next day at 6 p.m and Willow's mum would pick them up and take them on a 4 hour car ride to Blue Bay.
Willow was very excited. She couldn't believe that they were finally going back home. But the nearer the time of their departure came she became nervous. Willow thought about all she missed from home and suddenly her face became pale and she shivered.
"What's the matter, hun?", Garett asked concerned while he put his arm around her.
" I just remember that Víctor might still be in Blue Bay.", Willow said in a very low voice, almost a whisper as if she feared her own words.
"Don't worry dear. Besides, I don't think he cares anymore.", Garett replied and gave her a tight hug.
She she hugged him back and felt so grateful to have him.
" Thank you! ", she said with a smile, her fear had completely disappesred. She never understood why remembering Víctor always made her feel so uneasy." You don't need to thank me. By the way, have you been thinking about our wedding? You haven't said anything when I proposed to you.", Garett said in an almost pleading voice as he was looking onto her eyes.
"Of course, it's yes Garret. Only, I don't see myself in a wedding dress and a wife. I don't know, I never expected to find the right guy and then live happily ever after. Maybe I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have to wear a dress, tones of makeup and a fancy hairdo.", Willow said in a speedy manner as if it was an angry protest.
Garett was speechless and looked at her, wondering if he would say something more. In that moment Willow realised how funny her statement was and burst out in laughter. Garett did the same.
After laughing for almost fifteen minutes, Garett looked her amused and said:
" Actually, you would look really sexy in that wedding dress and couldn't wait to take it off you."
Willow gave him a soft punch on his arm. He pulled her towards him and started to tickle and kiss her all over her body. Shortly, after which they made love to each other. After a goodnight's rest they were all set to return home, to Blue Bay, where they had grown up, become friends and fallen in love.
The city was never their home although they had been living there for four years. It always felt strange. It lacked the small town vibe which was part of them. Willow's mother had assured them that there was enough space in her house for them to move in and finding a job also wouldn't be a problem.
As Willow and Garett boarded their flight, Willow wondered if they would now be strangers in Blue Bay. Much certainly had changed in four years. Garett didn't worry so much, was thinking of reunions with his buddies.
